What he said! Install was ok. My plan was to cut out the bolts and reinstall backwards to avoid bending sheet metal. On the drivers side, there were some hard brake/fuel lines in the way, so after 15 minutes of struggling and cursing, I gave in and bent the metal and the bolt came right out.

On the passenger side, there were no lines in the way so a backwards install was a breeze.

I’m glad they’re on your short list.

It seems that everyone is all over getting the cool mods, but little thought or dollar allocation is given to overall safety, safe recovery, first aid, fire control, etc.

    UCA upper bolts.

The fender sheet metal is so darn close to the long ass UCA bolt that it gets in the way of pulling it out.

Take quick peek at your truck and you’ll understand.

Installing the bolts the other direction would make for an easier install and de-install in the future.

Yup. Look at where the fender sheet metal is in relation to the uca bolt.

The bolt enters from the higher side (front side) and exits on the lower (rear side.)

In order to pull out the bolt, you would have to bend the fender sheet metal on the front side. Or cut the bolt head off and pull the bolt from the lower side.

What Lloyd said. The sheet metal is in the way of backing the bolt out. I cut the head off, and slid it out backwards. On the drivers side, reinstalling backwards was impossible so I bent the sheet metal a little and put in the correct way.

On the passenger side, those brake lines weren't there so I put it in backwards and didn't bend any metal.
    That's one loooonnng bolt.

No problem at all. The bottom of that RCI diff skid is perfectly flat and it carries the weight of the entire rear end of the truck with no issue.

I will always add a jack stand on either side of the rear axle tho. Because teetering from the center fulcrum point is not safe.

Using the center diff to lift just reduces two efforts of jacking to one.

    85 ft-lbs OEM

I’m not sure if JBA would spec something different.

I torqued to 85 and used blue loctite as a precaution. Especially on the backwards bolt.

Forgot to mention that this morning I installed this trim on the prinsu. Holy crap what a world of difference! It got rid of the dull roar at highway speeds.

    http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ANO6RVI

Also while I was working on my truck, I dropped the LCAs, removed the alignment bolts, sanded off the corrosion that was starting, and covered them in Anti seize. That should help any future issues with frozen bolts

I can't take credit. Someone else posted it in the prinsu thread, and I followed suit. Best $9 spent this week.
