They don’t make TRD cold air intake for 2012-2015 due to the smog pump. However there is after market ones that relocate that pump.

Yeah I know. I was trying to get one for my truck when I bought it. Figured that they would eventually make one, but I guess not.
I think I saw a thread about geting the 2005-2011 one and modifying it to fit the 2012-2015

The TRD S/C comes with a washable K&N type filter. That's what you have there.

    Congrats on a sweet truck!

Dont buy the "trd" intake they sell now, it runs lean because aem/k&n screwed up the dimensions of the maf tube.

Try an afe stage 2 si with a prodry s filter on it.

Can someone educate me what is to the right of the SC, and behind the Fuse box? It almost looks like an oil catch can or something. I'm assuming it's part of the SC kit?

I think that is the oil reservoir for the supercharger?

It's a coolant reservoir for the supercharger.

Supercharger comes with its own small radiator coolant pump and coolant reservoir.

The pump and the small radiator are mounted in front of the main radiator.

    Heads up.

The truck WILL do a self emissions check when the truck is off and has sat about 4hrs. Dont be alarmed, many people have asked already about this over the yrs.

You may come out to ur truck while its in the garage/port whatever and hear the evap check happening which sounds like a fuel pump running (it is NOT the fuel pump), the sound is near the drivers side rear of the truck.

Now since you will have the supercharger, you will ALSO hear a louder motor running in the FRONT of your truck behind the grill/bumper. That is the pump for the superchargers coolant. The pump is tied into a relay that happens to energize at the same time the evap check happens, and also of course when the trucks key is turned to acc. PERFECTLY normal, just let it do its thing for 1 second up to a couple minutes depending on the system. This varies due to truck temperature, and i think if theres alot of vapors in the tank due to recent sloshing.

I drive my truck maybe once a week on average, and i have NEVER had a battery issue from this self check, and i also have a scangauge plugged into the obd2 port which has a small draw.

Periodically check that resivor to the right of the supercharger to make sure its filled up (use premixed toyota pink coolant just like what goes into the normal radiator) Also just as important make sure to check the resivor with the key turned to acc and insure the coolant is swirling. The pumps have been known over yrs to hum like they are working, but the prop doesnt spin, therfore the coolant doesnt circulate.

The pumps are easy to replace, cost about $100 on Amazon..... its just a bosch pump used on f150 lightnings, cobras, and range rovers.

That pump would probably be under warranty, wouldn’t it?

If a dealer installed the supercharger than it’s covered under the Powertrain warranty for whatever term you have. If it was installed diy or third party than it only carries a 1yr warranty on the supercharger and related parts.

I’m buying it on Friday and it’s certified, only 25000 miles! I’m also paying an extra $1800 to extend the good part of the certified warranty for the full 7 years! I bought the extra insurance through the Toyota dealership! So I should be good another 75000 miles or 5 years!
