Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

For people who are still awaiting their orders, there is a big delay from international postage, I believe this has something to do with holidays (or possibly weather), we expect to receive our next batch literally any day now and will get these out ASAP. I am really sorry about this, and have been in contact with the provider to make sure everything gets here in a timely manner.
As soon as they arrive all orders will be updated and out the door.


They are at San Diego Port awaiting customs clearance...and taking forever! ridiculous

Thanks @OVTune Mat, just waiting on that dongle also. Good old Canada customs will be a bit of a holdup.

 

Referring to only the engine braking segment of your post. The engine braking sucks in the stock manual transmission tune horribly as well. This is something that definitely needs to be addressed. The DCFO switching off too early pulling a trailer can get you into a bind really quick.

 

I think you hit the nail on the head right there.

 

agreed completely - i think this is why the Pedal Commander is so popular with these trucks.

 

Okay guys good news, I got 150x dongle on the way DHL eta 5 days no customs hold up.

So not only will we ship all pending orders, we can finalize all preorders AND have some extra left. Wheeew

@OVTune I'm thinking about trading my truck in and wondering if I can transfer the tune/license to another owner.

 

Just checking in constructively....has there been any success eliminating the perceived auto learning of the ECU/transmission?

 

I'm order 2137 but mine hasn't shipped yet. I guess you just made the cut.

 

Are you genuinely concerned or are you just going to go back to other threads ( SSP, 700 or trade) and be sassy about it - "LOL at having to re-flash every 500 miles - too funny" or something like that.

I’m glad I got my kit, can’t say I feel lucky though. I’m not thrilled with the drivability of my truck at the moment I’m getting more pissed each day I drive on the stock tune. The registration process just to get the tune is proving to be a thorn in the you know what.

@OVTune seems like a nice guy and has done amazing things for the community. However the process and turnaround time have some serious short comings.

I’m a bit concerned that this is going to take a while for me to get my tune and get this going since he’s now looking at doing other applications in addition to ours.

I hope this post isn’t taken to negatively as I like many are simply frustrated and are turning to @OVTune for his solution.
I’m borderline about to get rid of the truck if I can’t get this going soon.

 

you just sent it to me this morning. follow each step and it usually can be done relatively quick. Your ECU is already supported so once registration is done we build the file and done. I sent you your update.



Just so everybody is completely aware, I never delay this stuff on purpose. I have no reason to just make delays.

yes you can transfer the hardware, the new truck would need licensed (if you have flashed your truck. PM me for details)



I finally have a way to receive all of the required hardware in large bulk order without a limit. This is going to cut transit time down and completely eliminate our "out of stock" statuses.

We purchased a truck specifically to eliminate this and provide even more features.

 

No pressure...but I’m stalling on my 3rd gen purchase as you work on the tune. Hahaha the Tacoma savior. Hello from NorCal

 

@OVTune, do you see a need to purchase a M/T truck to further that development as well? I mean, you wouldn't need a PRO after all lol. '16 or '17 used OR/sport would suffice.

OVTune, the card that I used for the pre-order deposit was compromised. That being said, my bank had to issue me a new card. Being order #2195, I don't want to lose my position in the pre-order line. How can I get you a new card number for payment once the order is ready to ship? I sent this to you in an email, but thought I’d share in case anyone else had the same situation.

Also, I hope that the turd who stole my card number enjoys the $2800+ Italian spa treatment. Fucking douchebag!
