Installed a RatioTek shift kit on Saturday. Messed up the valve body some how or another.

I now have a 4-speed automatic. No 5th gear. New valve body inbound.

 

I have some serious powertrain upgrade envy. Nice truck man.

 

Damn, love just about every mod you've done, especially the head unit. Impressed! Good color of truck too, my fav...

New valve body arrived today. For anyone considering getting a new one for whatever reason, just be aware it does not come with any solenoids.

 

Money pit is more like it.

 

Dropped off my SOS Concepts streamline front bumper today to get powder coated.

I started in high school (1990). My first ride was a $1,000.00 1972 Beetle that had no radio. My grandma took me to Sam’s wholesale club and bought me a Sansui 2-shaft tape deck w/ a pair 5.25 coaxials.

I saved up my pizza job money and went to the flea market and picked up a Sherwood 240, a Sherwood 180, a Clarion 1/2-din EQ and a Cerwin Vega 15” sub.

I pulled the back seats out of my bug and built a huge box and amp rack and covered it all in fuzzy black carpet from Walmart. I jammed the shit out of that all through high school.

Later on, I worked at various car audio shops from around 1994-2005.

Not yet. I’m planning to visit a dyno at some point. I have a couple more things I need to do first. I ordered some bigger injectors and also need to get my transmission working right.

Max MAF flow in the datalogs has been a touch over 340 grams/sec. According to the MAF x 1.18 figure that’s been passed around for the 1GR, that’s right at 400 horses at the crank. I feel like that is an ambitious estimate. So once I make it to a dyno, I’ll see if that is anywhere close.

 

What needs to be done for the trans at these power levels?

 

Technically nothing. Mine was fine. I tried installing a shift kit to firm things up and made a mistake somewhere in the process and lost 5th gear.

I have the new valve body, but haven’t had time to install it yet. Thinking about sending it out to John at IPT and let him do his thing, first.

 

So my plan is to copy this power setup, SC, Pulley, ucon and all the other good stuff.. while also going 37in tires.. (regeared to 4.88 or 5.29 of course) will this work out alright or am I on meth?

 

Only thing about it that’s sucks is when you add up all the money you spent!

So to run 37s, what kind of lift and suspension do you need? I may want venture down that road in the future.

 

I've done quite a bit of research on the 37s, it seems to be more about the actual trimming rather than lifting. Going to do a Cab mount relocation, firewall/inner fender tubing, fender and flare trimming.
I'm on a 2 in lift, but going to force it to work.

 

Going to use my 2" ome lift until I can get the total chaos 2+ kit
