With a 22% improvement in sales last month, and despite the six-month, $4.3 billion loss it announced Wednesday, General Motors is likely to have its strongest spring and summer in years. Plus, the automaker had critically acclaimed new products at the recent New York Auto Show and the much-anticipated Chevrolet Volt is due out this fall.

Unfortunately just because GM's cars are selling well now doesn't mean they're the best bet for durability or value -- yet. It'll take awhile before GM's new direction shows up in tangible new products at the dealership.
Four of the seven vehicles on our list of the worst-made cars on the road come from GM brands. And all of the cars on the list -- including Chrysler's Dodge Nitro and Jeep Wrangler -- are made by Detroit's Big Three. Only one car on the list is made by Ford Motor (NYSE: F).

I work for a Chevy dealer (mechanic's parts counter) and I can say the Aveo is a total p.o.s. I've seen timing belts brake at 40,000 miles, gas filler doors brake off, and a list of other problems. However, the automatic transmission is about bullet proof. Guess who makes it? Aisin (Toyota). As far as the Colorado, I've seen cylinder head and front differential problems, but over all they seem to be pretty reliable, although, not very desirable.

 

I wouldn't go that far...I've always had a soft spot for Mustangs

But no...i'm not a fan of their trucks

 

Fix Or Repair Daily....yea i would believe it. My brothers f150 went through 3 trannys and a starter in a year. my moms explorer went threw 2 engines.

 

Chevy Aveo...one of the least appealing cars i've ever seen

colorado? good? no! lol. my freind has an 06 and the 4 speed auto sh*t itself at 60K lol

 

I absolutely hate the GM 4L60E transmission. I had one in my 2004 Silverado, and it was crap. When I said the Colorado is fairly reliable, I meant in context with other Chevys. It actually does not have a lot of the little nagging issues like oil leaks, check engine lights, lock cylinders, speedometers, etc. that the full size trucks have. I work at Chevy and could have gotten a great deal on a Colorado and I still bought a Tacoma. Every time I give a mechanic a new cylinder head for a Colorado, I'm glad I did.

true haha never thought of it that way. the engine is actually pretty solid, though pretty sluggish and i like the chassis and rear suspesnsion more than the tacoma. but, everything else about that truck is pretty crappy.

have you seen the UCA's for them? well the 2wd models anyway? two pieces chevy? really? really? lololol

oh yah and the window on the truck broke. the crank window. you can break into it on command lol.
