Hmm maybe it’s the difference in the way you’re driving it, ie racing. It’s learned to behave lol. My throttle just isn’t consistent and the truck is stuttering more than before. Speed and the gear I’m in are definitely playing a role. One time I’ll get a good crisp blip, the next it just won’t do much at all. Note that I daily my truck so I’m usually quite easy on it - otherwise it drinks gas like it’s beer.

It was!! I highly recommend it, the road course is perfect for trying to push the truck a bit and figure out where it's limits are... Spoiler alert she's got a lot to give. I think my next move is to try a track day sans front sway bar because I was experiencing some understeer...IMG_20171201_214938.jpg

    some understeer?

this is the single most understeering vehicle I've ever driven... well maybe my father in law's dually is worse a bit.

i added a rear sway bar, some UCA's, and a higher caster alignment. with the ovtune you can effectively modulate the throttle really well for F/R weight shifting and that takes care of the understeer fully, you just gotta steer with the throttle as much as the wheel, maybe a bit more.

i have stretched wings with this truck and found some limits, but on road you can't be real consistent about it and you can't stretch too far w/o disabling VSC, which i won't do on public roads, so it can be hard to know all around, but i hope to get some track time in the next few months. any MSR members around here?

See the funny thing was that yeah it would understeer, but you can push it significantly past the point where the front tires start making noise and it wouldn't all out lose grip and slide off the road like you might expect. It scared me at first when the tires started screeching in the front so quickly but then I realized there's a whole range of pitches of tire screech that they will make at different speeds without losing grip. I did go through a few mm of tread but it was worth it

Wow, now here's something I never thought I'd see on TW. 99.99% of content surrounding these trucks has to do with off-road, camping, hauling etc or a combo of those things. Mine wallows like a beached whale lol. Kudos for giving it a go guys.. love to see a vid or two as well!

Now that I have some miles on the 1.03 04B10 I can confidently say it is much better then 1.02B. Really enjoy the consistent throttle feel. No more random bogging. Would still love some of the extra power that we would gain from ignition tuning. Hopefully OV gets 04B10 figured out;)

Hey man, good to see you around again, and am glad your truck is behaving! Do you have any stutters/hesitations from 1500-2500 under moderate to heavy load?

Thanks man! Just busy as shit with work. So far no hesitation. I thromp the throttle and she pick ups and goes! Especially up in the powerband. I can tell though more power is to be had:)

I wish I had video from this. It's tough to get video rn because there's only a few track days around me open to the public and outside of that autocross says I can't compete until I get my full cage installed because of the obvious rollover risk. And of course when I need it my GoPro bag is missing yesterday

That's super cool you race your truck!!

Do you have different tires you use or are those your normal drivers?

Those are currently my dailies but I'm going to make them a dedicated race/autocross set and use a set of 255/85r16 33s with a set of custom offset steelies for offroading and winter driving and daily use
