okay, so I am finally caught up. somehow missed an alert, next thing you know I am 2 months behind.

So I just got my new upper...........................

    https://www.classicfirearms.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=UA300CM41617-P-15-MLOK

Need to clean it as it has been test fired.................and get it get ready for break in...................

got 500 rounds of ammo on Wednesday..................................

    500 Round Case - 300 AAC Blackout 150 Grain FMJ Fiocchi Ammo - 300BLKC
(tossed in 2 boxes of 32-WCF ammo cause of shipping)

Then I found these thanks to this site.......................

Magpul Gen 2 MBUS Front & Rear Back-Up Sights Set
    KIT-0279 $93.00
    Ordered: 1
    Shipped: 1 $93.00
    6043 Magpul MBUS Back-Up Sight GEN 2 - Rear - Black MAG248-BLK

    1 x Magpul MBUS Back-Up Sight GEN 2 - Rear - Black MAG248-BLK $0.00
    6043
    6027 Magpul MBUS Back-Up Sight GEN 2 - Front - Black MAG247-BLK

    1 x Magpul MBUS Back-Up Sight GEN 2 - Front - Black MAG247-BLK $0.00
    6027

I DID NOT PAY 93.00 plus shipping. BF deal 49.99 shipped...............still waiting...........

and then on the afternoon of BF, I put this in jail...........

https://www.turners.com/ruger/ruger-ar-556-elite-complete-lo-471435 on sale for 219.86 plus tax and dros.

So I am in just over 620.00.

I am thinking about an decent (read not expensive, not cheap junk) scope. 125 to 150.

lower has a two stage trigger 4.5 lb so I may just leave that.

This rifle, like my S&W sport II is just for plinking steel at 140 to 500 yds.

Next build might be a custom rifle..........................................cause

Where did you find .300blk in bulk? I can't find it anywhere and needed some for my break-in as well.

I just remember you saying you had a Vortex optic. That's my hold up right now. I've changed my mind so many times on optics. Just have so many options for what I want to use my gun for I can't decide. Right now I'm thinking of a different setup than most. 3x-9x X 40mm scope with an offset red dot as a backup/short range sight. A buddy is giving me the scope for free since he just bought a new Leupold and doesn't need it anymore so I can save a little money.

I have the NC Star scope combo n my AR. Like it, simple and easy to use both for different yardages.

    https://www.turners.com/ncstar/ncstar-ultimate-sighting-syste-264014

Which one is he giving you?

Think I might just swap that to my new AR and test it while I decide what to do. Don't want to spend a ton on optics for a 600 rifle.

Yeah that's all I've been doing since I ordered my rifle.
Just trying to get it ready quickly so I can use it for these last few weekends of deer season since that's the main reason I bought it.
Might upgrade everything down the road but if this scope and red dot hold up I might just roll with it until I get another rifle and turn this .300blk into a 10.5" pistol build for home defense....or maybe a silencer....I don't know. hahaha

I think it's a Simmons. Not sure of the model. He said it's been a really nice scope but he has always had Leupolds on his rifles and had been saving for another to replace it.

    Anytime!
And yeah I don't think I'll be shooting that one either. Wayyyy too heavy to be a super. Might just be a typo. :notsure:

Was asking you lol, being you had the magical link. I knew there was a company that recently shut down that was doing bulk 300AAC in bags but seems they got overwhelmed and are still refunding people back from that escapade. The prices from your link are good but nowhere where they should be. Lowest I've found is 12.95/20 Remington FMJ's at Walmart.

The link was just to all the ammo they have in 300 blackout.

Because of where I live, I need to get my hands on a bunch of ammo for the rifle...

Might have to swing by Wal-Mart tomorrow.
