Finally I find a fishing thread! My best largemouth about 4 years back. Have yet to find one this size again. :( And a nice cat from the Sacramento River  AB830E36-2FAA-4160-BDD3-5732B693C464.jpg465A41BC-9ACE-41A7-8835-684915F48DCF.jpg

Congratulations! If you don't mind me asking...What kind of fish are those. I'm in the warm water of the Central Pacific. Don't see too many Atlantic fish out here.

sorry for the slow replies, it is a tautog...........they call them black fish up in new jersey and north, kinda like they call (flounder) fluke, we call them flounder, we call stripers, stripers, and south they are called rock fish.

it isnt rare for citations, you just have to put the time in. i cant fish as much as id like to, so the chase is real.

some people just know where to go, having GPS numbers are good, because these fosh LOVE structure. and there are a lot of artificial reefs off the east coast.

again sorry for the slow reply. they are a sneaky fish which makes them hard to catch.

they will humble you quickly also. we went out this past saturday, with only 4 keeps on the boat. 2 went for 5, one went for over 10. all mine were short and had to throw back. bite was tough because of the moon we think (monster moon) because the moon has a lot to do with current and tide.

    hope that answered your questions.
again thanks for the kind words.

by citation, i mean the state recognizes catches above the norm. a citation catch for tog, is any tog 7 pounds or over. i think flounder for delaware are 5 pounds. etc etc. black drum is over 50.

Idaho is lame here with their stuff. I turned in a fish tag on a pike and all they sent was a paragraph about when it was tagged and how much it weighed...
