Looking to replace the factory rear bump stops with either

    - Timbrens or
    - Sumos https://www.etrailer.com/tv-Demo-SuperSprings-Vehicle-Suspension-SSR-612-40.aspx

95% of the time, my truck is empty and I don't want to hurt the ride with an increased spring rate on the rear end. But when I camp, I carry approx. 500 lbs in the bed. It sits level with this load, which is fine, but it does bottom out more than I'd like on the freeway and offroad. I'm trying to ease the harshness of the bottoming on the factory bump stops. These two products seem like an economical and effective way to accomplish this. I know originally, the Sumos offered for the 3rd gen were the same as the 2nd gen which caused a harsher ride unloaded. But they've since shortened them down a bit to correct that with a new part number #SSR-612-40. Anyone have any reason too choose one product over the other, besides price??

    Thanks!

I got timbrens and love them. Ive had about 500-1,200 LBS on the truck NY to SC 800 mike trips. 4 trips so far great ride. If I’m empty an go over train tracks I can feel them but that’s the only time.

FWIW, Wheelers superbumps with all pro flip kit is the same price as the Timbrens, and I really like the feel of them when bottoming out.

I have the 610-40 and the back end is definitely stiffer when empty, but fine with a load. I got them before the 612-40 came out and it didn't bother me enough to take them out. That said, now that I see this, I may just swap in the Timbrens. I like that the Timbrens have the u-bolt flip included.

Hmm, looking closer it says it fits 2005-2015 towards the bottom, but in the beginning it says 2005+ . I'd ask if it fits before ordering.

I'm betting the 2005-2015 was written before the 2016s came out. The rear suspensions are the same between 2nd and 3rd gens, I believe.

There is a different gap (that the sumo's fill) between 2nd and 3rd gen. The 612 were designed after the 3rd gen came out, I think due to a bit excessive preload when 610 were installed on 3rd gen.
    Maybe

Running the Timbren Front bumps? I want to like their stuff, but it’s so expensive.

Go on Amazon just make sure you cross reference part numbers. There expensive but well worth the money. I like superbumps but the bottom out to soon never was a fan. then went to timberns at first feel stiff but they loosen up can absorb bumps pretty well.

Dumb question but wouldn't firestone ride rite serve about the same purpose with a bit more flexibility?
