Will 5x7 fit into the 6x8 bracket for the 01-04 tacoma xtra cab? I'm looking at Rockford 5x7's as I don't want component speakers. Or would the 6.5'' with an adaptor sound better?

    Thanks

5X7 and 6X8 speakers have the same mounting pattern, so yes - one will fit into a bracket designed for the other.

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
Are you going to run a sub?

Yeah, I already have a sub connected through an amp, and I installed an aftermarket headunit.

    Then run 6.5's, no question.

What Speakers do you recommend? My budget is 120 for all four speakers. Are you going to go to the next mod day?

When is the next local meet up? I've not seen anything posted about it. The one in Austin is way too far for me.

If I was you I'd say spend all $120 on a single pair of speakers instead of splitting it up between the fronts and the rears. You'll get significantly better results this way. And definitely go with components and NOT coaxials.

Questions about audio? Just ask me...advice is free
    www.StereoClarity.com

beings advise is free, i have about 2k to spend on all. i want 2-10" subs, i would like two small drivers in the rear doors, and seperates up front. my plans so far are; JL10w1 for the subs ran by a rockford P300-1, the mid bass is i dont know yet, and the fronts will be JL refrence series and i am not sure of what size. will this be too much bass (im a bass head)? would you recomend other speakers? my end design will need to make my ears bleed and scramble my brain. my current car hits 142 db. with one hx12" rockford, will this be louder or the same? will .78cf be too small for a speaker that calls for .88cf?

    Taco,
Listen to Italyn, he knows his stuff. I went super low cost for my stereo, and this is what I have and I think it sounds good enough for me. I bought all of my stuff off of Amazon/ and price matched at car toys
Infinity 5020 5.25 components for the front - 104.00 (Amazon)
Pioneer 6.5 (dont know the model # but they do the job better than the factory) - 32.00 (Amazon)
    Boss Bass 1200 - 120.00 (Amazon)
Monster wire kit - 29.99 (Radio Shack)
    Alpine CDA105 - 179.99 (crutchfield)

This is good enough for me, but you need to listen to these speakers, because what I have and what you want may be 2 different things. I think my car sounds good, but you may think it sounds like shit.
