Ah. So I shouldn't take that nut off. This is doable without jacking up the tranny right? It is completely free of the crossemember the only thing holding it is the pinion nut.

Yep totally do-able to remove the diff without any tranny jacking o_O

It looks like you were already set up to do this, but the best way I've found is to lay directly under the diff and bench press it up, while rotating it forward and dropping the front end down. You can remove the mounting brackets, but I don't think it really helps you at all, other than less weight to hold up.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
+1 for bench pressing your diff without jacking the tranny. Just gotta rotate and get one side up first and Bam diffs in.

My buddy and I were doing the job. We tried turning it, pushing it, pulling it, yelling at it, but the goddamn flange kept getting stuck on the steering rack and bellhousing.

Finally doing my Tundra brake upgrade. It fits! Was pretty nerve racking testing if it would fit under my 2017 TRD off-road wheels. Ended up fitting fine after minimal trimming to the dust shield.

Does anyone know if the calipers are side specific? There's two outlets for the brake lines on the calipers and one caliper has it on the upper port and one caliper has it on the lower port.

Yeah and it's fits! With the swingout. Gonna have to chop the table down a bit but that's it. Huge interior space. Bed is small though..

I found it in Colorado. @TacoVio was kind enough to haul it to Laramie wy and I drove all day to go get it and drive back to northern wyo.

Paid 1200 for it. It's in pretty good shape. We will do a full restore if we decide we like it. The bed is on the small side for two people..but we will full test it before deciding that.

Thanks! It actually looks really good on frank in person .

Yep, do that for about 2-3 more hours and it'll pop right out. Then the next time you do it it'll only take half that amount of time/swearing.

Nice, love it when stuff just works out like that, even if you never planned for it.

    Ha, "full test" I bet.

Well I gotta put it on my truck soon so I'll let you know how that turns out! Haha.

I'll try using your method tomorrow. Hopefully no one has taken it yet.

It has a rear locker too! Tempted to take it.

Looks like the top of the spare tire is pretty close to the glass. How close did it get when you set it all the way down?

    Reserected from the dead.
If the '02 has the late model cruise control unit. The earlier ones had the cruise control motor mounted to the inner fender.

My 02 has the cruise mounted on the passenger fender area but no ABS. My 04 has ABS but I have no idea where the cruise is.

I think the bleeder valve is supposed to be on top. They're sold as right or left.

Well crap if you don't want to mess with the whole rear locker, will you grab the actuator and sell it to me? Those are hard to find up here in good shape.
