Yeah you shut it off fast as possible. that’s what you want to do. So it’s still not cranking?

Haven't tried starting it for 5-6 hours. It got dark quick and I don't have a shop at my place. Should I start with pulling plugs in the morning or try to turn the motor over one more time?

Truck and I made it home on a flatbed. Starter didn't want to turn the motor over, gave like a dead battery "click" (just one, tried 3 separate times)

Atrac bucked me, never had it do that before on this obstacle but it sure was enough to send it!

Pull the battery cable off. While you have that off pull the plugs and try to turn the motor over without the plugs in. It will shoot out the oil if there is any in the cylinders.

So the starter won’t turn the motor over? Or the motor turns over and won’t start?

Sounds like you might have oil in the cylinders and you got lucky the starter couldn’t turn the motor over.

Starter gives a "click" but no turning of the motor. Buddy thought the battery was messed cause of the angle it was on for almost 2 hours. Tried boosting it twice, making sure we had a good connection but to no avail, same "click" both times.

Airlocked? Should I try the fuel reset?

Guess I'll disconnect the battery and pull the plugs like you said to start.

Grab a breaker bar and try to turn the motor over. Dont force it, but there will be decent resistance. 2 hours on it side and there is a high chance of oil filling the cylinders.

For sure hydro locked if it was like that for 2 hours. It’s not that bad as long as it didn’t crank for a second. You just need to get the oil out of the cylinders and it should be fine as long as you didn’t bend a rod. But just the starter doesn’t have the power for that

Ok I would look in the battery area for battery acid . Sounds like the battery drained out . You can test this theory with shaking baking soda in the area. It should bubble up like hydrogen peroxide. That will neutralize the acid ... battery acid will stain and eventually strip the paint and promote rust ... Sounds to me like a drained battery due to acid loss . You sir need to buy a oddessy or optima .let me know..worst case scenario you neutralize that acid . It's there.

I'll start with what we discussed and get all the oil out of the cylinders. What tools are required?

This is a bit out of my comfort zone and knowledge. Was doing some research on the Internet but it didn't pertain to the 3.5L just wanted to be sure I didn't mess it up any further.

I don’t know exactly how on a 3rd gen. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Optima was a decent battery 15 years ago.

They are complete shit now. Don’t buy.

I’d start with a spark plug wrench. ;)
