Got the lights yesterday and decided to hook it up to my power supply and see how much current they draw. I was surprised to find out they each draw just a tad over 3 amps. Short of a catastrophic part failure I don't see any problems running these without a relay harness. I wasn't able to measure the initial startup draw unfortunately but whatever it is its only for a split second.
This is for the 35w btw.

I’ve steered you wrong. The harness labeled ??? is used between the factory harness and the ballast.
I thought the factory headlight harness would connect straight to the ballast but it doesn’t.

Hey Tw, not sure if this is correct but the factory harness does NOT fit my ballast. Looks like it's a different input, the back of it says D1-4. I will upload a picture when possible.

I’ve received these ones too, and unless I’m hooking it up wrong it definitely seems like the wrong fit. @kustom54lighting any help?

Errr I meant to quote the above post with D1-4 lamps listed

I think I figured it out. This should only apply to the NO RELAY route.

You should have some loose pieces from the igniter package, two orange rubber pieces and the plastic adapter. You basically have to put that together. If you followed instructions on removing the extra wiring, previously mentioned and I totally missed it, DONT. You’ll need that to compete the setup and it should work from there. Sorry I’m a noob to this but it was pretty confusing to have those extra parts and then the instructions telling you to remove the excess wiring.

Got the kit and they kind of sick imho, as it's just not bright enough to be worth the price tag.

Should have went with a 55w, but o wells.

For everything that purchased without a harness, you will need to attach the loose black piece that came with your kit to the orange and black wire and that plug hooks up to your OEM harness, the female end of that hooks up to your ballast. I'll upload a picture shortly

Yeah also you need to be super careful to not confuse supply and return when inserting the wire clips into the plastic plugs. I installed mine and so far so good. I drove in the dusk and it is miles better than my halogen so I’m not sure jukebox is complaining about above.

Anyways I’m still waiting for final verdict until I drive in full darkness but pretty impressed so far.

    I got the 35w btw

There is only so much brightness you can get out of factory projectors. They should be brighter but if you want crazy brightness you have to do a retrofit

I'm installing the the hid right now but I'm a having a little trouble with the harness. The harness to oem input connection can go in both ways. One side plugs in tightly while the other one is more loose but looking at the wires I believe the loose side is more correct. (Red to red and black to white with a black strip). Really hoping I can finish it before bedtime.

Yeah mine are loose. We're on my other morimoto harness too. Electrical tape fixed that right up

What you should do it stick the wires into the factory harness before building to make sure you are using the right ones then build the harness.

No worries if you already built it and the wires are backward. You can release the morimoto ones with a pick in the front and giving the wires a sight tug at the same time

So is the white with black strip on the factory wire suppose to go with the black wire on the harness and red to red? I just want to make sure. Thanks

Yeah um mine were four different colors on the factory harness. Just turn the lights on and shove the terminals from the morimoto harness in there lightly till the lights go on. If they don't then they are backwarss

Hey guys I noticed how the harness shroud can go both ways as well. To avoid having to duct tape them, one orientation actually latches the clip. There are two tabs (top and bottom) and one of the tabs is a ramp feature and one is more of a stub. The stub is the one that properly latches to the plastic clip on the mating part. You’ll hear it click when fully latched.

With that in mind just make sure that the wires are correct. As far as I can tell the oem wires are such that the one with black stripe is negative while the solid color is positive.

Btw I have no shaking as some people noticed on these and the brightness is really good. I’m very happy so far!

Just wanted to add to the above... if the orientation that latches has the wire polarities swapped, you can always remove the spliced end of the wires by inserting a small flat head screw driver from the opposite side of where the wires come out and push the plastic latch to the side. That way you can pull the wires out and place them properly. My harness actually came disassembled so I actually had to do all this myself.
