Took my 2015 with 19k miles to the dealer (Dublin Toyota) this week. Complained about the wind noise, and had a copy of the TSB with me. The service advisor seemed "put out" that I had a copy of the TSB, and wanted to know where I got it. He said unless they could duplicate the noise they wouldn't do anything to fix it. I told him it's a well know issue, and called BS on his unwillingness to fix the problem!! After a "heated discussion" he went and talked to his shop foreman and they agreed to replace just the drivers door seal with the new version. Ironically, as I left the dealership he approached me and asked that I "take care of him" on the survey I'm going to receive from Toyota... yeah, right!

If replacing that one seal solves the problem then I'm ok with it. If it doesn't both the service manager and Toyota are going to hear about it!

After living with this annoying vibrating reed noise at the top of the front door seals every time I drive into/against a cross wind for 18 mos/25,000 mi. I decided to fix this myself.
Toyo has yet to extend their TSB for 2014/15 for the same issue on 2016s. ( sounds like 2107 do the same ). It was a 5 min. fix and cost $3.50.
If you look at the front door seals along the top and roll them away from the door just a bit you'll see a big gap behind them.
Run down to your favorite hardware store and find some 3/8 or 1/2" round tubular closed cell weather striping with the adhesive tape attached.
Cut a piece long enough to run from the top rear corner were the existing door seal is glued to the door frame down to about even with the mirror.
Peel off about 6" of the adhesive tape cover and fit the new seal into the channel behind the door seal allowing the glue edge to stick to the door frame.
Work your way down the door 4 to 6" at a time until done. This eliminated all door squealing for me and has no door leaks. Easy fix.

I did the same with about 38k miles on mine (without the adhesive tape) and it solved the problem, and I had the Weathertech window deflectors. Haven't heard a peep since.

Covered by warranty? Does the TSB cover 2013s as well? I have a CPO with some warranty left and an awful kazoo sound in certain conditions. Worst case, I'll just fix myself, but I wouldn't mind new seals if I can get them.

How far down do they go on the other side? Can you take a pic from the other side of the door?

I've been having this issue since I purchased the truck and it occurs on both sides of the vehicle depending on crosswind. It was just an occasional annoyance until I drove out to Wyoming this month. 80+mph and heavy wind made for almost continuous whistling.

They’re identical to the old seals. With the addition of the extra bead on the leading edge.

Anyone remember the thread dealing with the squeaking noise right by your ear on the drivers side? We've got the crosswind "kazoo" dealt with (TSB). But I have a theory on the crinkling/quiet squeak by the drivers side ear.

I know where the noise originates. Recently realized the HVAC recirculate function has an effect on the noise. I just learned in anouther thread that we have vents behind the rear DC seats (pictures below stolen from another thread). I'm wondering if these vents can be "messed with" and might be a cause of the noise. But I want to get the discussion going in the correct thread. Can Anyone provide reference?

So, I have a 2014 DCSB, but outside of warranty by mileage. Will they still address the TSB or will I be better off buying their upgraded door seals and installing them myself? If I'm better off doing it myself, anyone happen to have the door seal part numbers for the front doors?

I'd certainly inquire about it at the dealer even though you're outside warranty. If declined, then purchase. Just a heads up- they're expensive.

I just purchased a set of new door seals for my 2014 access cab. Their list price is $74 each, which is what I paid. I installed them yesterday. Fairly easy to install - took about 20 minutes or so per side. You need to remove one 10mm bolt on the arm that limits how far the doors can open, so you can put the seal on the other (outer) side of the arm. The part of the seal on top of the door has thicker material plus the addition of the extra piece if 1/4" tubing. Tested at 80 mph with a 35 mph cross wind. No whistle and much quieter than the original seals.

I had a similar experience. After New seals, I thought it seemed a little quieter in general (in addition to getting rid of the kazoo).
