I carry liquid refrigerant and also a tank of nitrogen in my work van during the summer with no issues. I would think a tank of CO2 would be similar. But there are laws in doing so. Since it's in the back of my work van it requires ventilation and has to be secured properly. Not bungee cords lol there' special racks we had to buy to secure the tanks. I'l try posting up some links of what we required up here to carry the tanks in our work van.

If bigger means wider yes. But 285/75 are taller making them bigger in terms of tire size calcs

 

what about 255/85?

 

I don’t know I’ve felt like these 295s are to wide just by a smidgen. But I’m not super into 255/85. I don’t want to necessarily Re gear yet as I’m still setting my whistle in the east coast wheeling scene


And 285/75 are closer to 34”

 

Exactly. A full co2 tank is running between 3-4k psi when full. I wouldn't keep that in my rig unless I was using it. Too many bad things can happen during daily driving! And it is essentially a bomb should it be catastrophically ruptured.

Reminds me of a story my dad tells. When he was in high school, during one of his shop classes, someone was messing around and tipped over a compressed gas cylinder. It sheared the regulator off and the cylinder off like a rocket. Went through 6-8 plaster/sheetrock walls through several classrooms and only "stopped" when it hit the cinder block exterior wall of the building. Luckily no one was hurt. But it gave me a new found respect for when I handle anything like that.

The Honeywell guys have a blade type on their service trucks. Never saw that one before. Is it JCL issue? As for tanks, got a feeling there talking outside truck signage here again. It never ends.

You'll be totally safe, as long as you're safe about it. Just don't leave it on your truck unless you're gonna go wheeling. That's my recommendation at least.
