Anyone notice that the Pro grilles the the Toyota deanships are selling state "Made in the USA" on the box? I have been participating in this thread for a couple of weeks and most think Toyota has the grilles made somewhere outside of the US. I may have missed someone else saying that the Toyota grilles are US made. Hey I ordered one from China to save money. Just wished Toyota would not have such a high markup, then I think most of us would buy AMERICAN! As a U.S. Marine serving 22 years in the military, I always look for US made products and at times I do find them and pay more and buy them. I may have to order one from Toyota and sell the Chinese one after it arrives? No attacks at anyone here. Just expressing an opinion.

I think once you receive the one from China, and it is as excellent as mine, you will forgo putting money in Japanese hands (Toyota is a Japanese company). Regardless of where the oem Pro grille is manufactured there are multiple parts and pieces on your truck made in far eastern countries and Mexico. You cannot buy an American Ford or GM vehicle that has 100% USA made parts. It sucks and I once defended American products. I was somewhat offended when my Clazzio leather seat covers arrived with "made in China" on the box. They are the best quality seat covers I ever bought especially compared to the "made in USA" brand in my wifes vehicle. Now I don't care who made them. At least they are marketed and supplied by Americans. The days of American made products are going away. Now most items are "assembled in the USA" with Mexican and Chinese parts.
I work for the Dept of Defense and my loyalties are always USA first.

I hear you. We did this shit to ourselves. So you think the grilles made in China will endure for the long term or fade once they are exposed to UV and numerous washes?

Once the Chinese realize there is a market, they will start making them. You should send an inquiry to all the Chinese grille seller's on eBay and ask them. I have asked sellers on eBay questions before and they are usually responsive especially if they think they will make a sale.

Well I think we also need to see how long the Toyota brand holds up to the same conditions. They are both fairly new to the market. I am personally keeping my Sport grille which I do like. If the plastic fades too quickly I will swap back to stock, paint the black grille, and toss it on Craigslist. Don't think I will lose much money. If the Toyota Pro grille fades you will lose a fortune trying to sell it especially if you have to paint it.

I bought the OEM one and I’m glad I did. Mine said “Made in USA” on the box as well. If something happens to mine, I have a receipt and a new one will be here tomorrow.

I am retired US Army. However, I don’t fault anyone here for buying the Chinese version for their Japanese Truck. Just keeping it Asian is all.

My real Pro Grille was coated in 303 before I installed it and it still looks new, almost a year later

Box also says made in America

Yeah, they make those boxes in Canada too..!! Cardboard is cardboard...!! The Chinese cardboard is a little crappier than Canadian or US boxes, but it still works...

See post #1175. It’s quoted above regarding the OEM grille being “Made in the USA.”

I ride around in my Japanese truck with my from Japanese Wife. Then we get home I watch my Korean(Samsung) TV and scroll through this sight on my Chinese made iPhone. Then get in bed with my sheets made in Bangladesh, in my underwear that was made in Malaysia.
