Should I be worried about any frame/bed damage?

So I've gone 9 months and about 13k miles and just recently got rear-ended.

    Involved 4 cars. #1 SUV , #2 Me, #3 honda , #4 mercedes.
The honda rear-ended me and the momentum pushed me into the SUV (i say SUV cause i don't really recall what the car was). Driver of the SUV got out and said she didn't really think she had any damage and just left.

While I don't think my truck has much damage other than the rear bumper, hitch reciever, and the front black piece on the bumper.

#1 - Initial picture right when I got out of my truck
#2- Looks like the hitch receiver is bent down a lot?
    #3- Honda civic vs TACO
    #4- Driver side
    #5- Passenger side

What do you think? Should I be worried about any frame damage or bed alignment issues? or any other problems that I don't know about?
Never been in this kind of situation before so looking for any help and information I can get.

    Thanks!

A good body shop would let you know. Can’t tell from the pictures. Take it to the best shop you can.

I would absolutely be worried about frame damage.

Yep. Looks like the tow hitch is bent down which means the frame is bent

That doesn't look too bad. There is a chance the frame where the hitch mounts was tweaked, but it looks like the receiver rotated down instead of bending the frame. I'd guess a new bumper, new hitch, and maybe a few extra dollars for depreciation if you ask for it.

People do way worse than this just wheeling and using their trucks. Don't stress, insurance will handle it.

@jwtaco said take it to the best shop you can, and that is great advice. If your insurance offers lifetime guarantee on work done by their appointed contractor, that might be the way to go.

I know the cab of the 3rd gen's are tough to repair, but not sure the frame can't be fixed, only way to know is let a professional make the call.

    Good luck OP,

What's the rear frame rail? Is that what the receiver is attached to?

My airbags didn't. The civics did. My fuel door popped open though!

My insurance told me to use my own coverage first and pay deductible OR I have to claim with the other party's insurance myself? (Wth?! Is this how it works if I want to pay nothing out of pocket and to go after their insurance?)

Also, there are Toyota collision repair centers right? Instead of a insurance body shop would this be a better option?

Always go through the other party's insurance, your insurance doesn't even need to know. Use them as the last resort to make sure your rates don't go up.

Tons. Most major dealerships have collision repair centers. I'd take my truck to a dealer's repair center before anywhere else. There's no way to know the actual damage without having a shop look at it, especially from some night time pics that don't even show the actual frame. ;)

Airbags won't deploy if hit in the rear. Yes that's how it works with insurance. There are some body shops attached to dealership. Body work is the same anywhere

What makes you think a body shop that has been doing repairs for decades know less how to do a proper repair than a dealership bodyshop

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
It's still attached to the same frame.

Which may well collapse sooner, because there is much less energy absorbed by the more solid bumper.

Yep, it won't implode like the OE bumper in light event's, but it may be a multiplier in rear enders like the OPs

Yeah pretty much. If they have a decent insurance company (ie, one that you’ve actually heard of before) then you shouldn’t have any issues.

If they have a shitty, fly by night, insurance company that is unresponsive or difficult to deal with, you may need to go through your insurance company. Assuming you have decent insurance, they should be able to recover the deductible and you shouldn’t owe anything out of pocket.

would a dealership body shop have toyota standards and a random body shop have your insurance standards?

    Reserected from the dead.
Find a body shop that has a frame machine and has operators that have been running the machine for a while.
