    Agreed.

A little common sense goes a long way. I'm surprised it is so hard to come by for some.

Don't we think for ourselves? We need to help ourselves and make better and less compulsive choices!

i have a TON of these.. but i also use plastic bags for trash can liners. so occasionally i dont use my cloth ones when i need more liners. I like this idea - in San Francisco they've had a ban on plastic bags for years now. But... paper isnt much better

Cloth bags are a great idea, and good for the environment. Will everyone use them- no. If you do do the occasional massive trip thing and use normal bags its still a good idea to recycle or reuse all your bags. For a dollar just start by picking one or two up next time you go shopping and try them out.

I completely agree, its just a lot of the thing that are out there that are supposed to be "good" for us, really are not. There are a lot of lies out there unfortunately.

And as to the reusable bags, i see them as a good way to save plastic bags, but also a way for people to make money which i unfortunately prob the main driving force behind them. When it comes down to it there really is no one solution to the problem but takin steps in the right direction is never a bad thing.

The cloth bags get dirty and your gonna die of a bacterial infection from all the nasties that live in the bits of food and fluids that get stuck inside the reusable bags :eek:

Okay one semi-last thing cause I'm heading to Death Valley!! Woot!!!

Okay so some of you might be thinking this Murphy guy is an asshole - And I am (or for some of your - I om) okay with that!

The one thing I can not stand is pollution and litter. I am an avid outdoorsman and backpacker all of my life. Any of you that have wheeled with me for any time know that I am the dick that stops the truck to pick up the Bud Light cans I see EVERYWHERE and in EVERY STATE!!! My dad and brothers taught me at a young age to carry a PLASTIC bag with me every time I go hiking, etc so that I can pick up other people's trash. I would like to think that this trash that I find INCLUDING THINGS THAT YOU MAY THINK ARE BIODEGRADABLE LIKE ORANGE PEELS, BANANA PEELS, SUNFLOWER SHELLS, ETC, were left behind by mistake. They are as less biodegradable than your dead body and I feel like no one should have to look at that either.

I pick up litter all the time (very rarely do I get sick) and even on my way here (to my office) there was a family that were thowing small handfuls of hulls out of their car as I was returning from my first appointment (saw them about 10 miles away from my office). I asked them "Could you do me a big favor and not throw the the hulls out the window. I realize that you think hulls are like feathers or water (the only things that you can legally litter from a vehicle in CA), but my friends surf in that garbage every morning and it ends up at the beach. Thank you"

I am very glad I was so polite this time. As I was getting out of my car and walking up to my office (in a shopping center) that same car came in between me and my front door. I waved and said "Thank you."

I know we all have prejudices. Some we admit to. Some we do not.

Me? I hate: litter. Having to breathe smoke of others... and Litter, people that don't have a sense of humor and litter. Oh, I also hate the consequences of pople that create laws with unintended consequences like making it legal to do...

MY BOTTOM LINE!?! I dream of change! Change in peoples sense of personal responsibility and a DRASTIC reduction in people thinking it is the governments job to legislate behavior!!!
