Took my topper off and did some hauling of mulch and firewood over the past two weekends. The engine had no problem hauling the loads, but the rear definitely had some sag. I did the cheap traction bars mod so that helps with the load. Only felt it hit the bumpstops a couple of times. :)

From a week ago, 3 bobcat scoops of mulch.

From this past Sunday, loaded a bunch of heavy, wet firewood by myself.

Sweet! I'm definitely going to try a pair of those helper springs. My 5-lug reg. is not eligible for the rear spring TSB, but it could use a little more muscle back there. If they also help with handling in turns as others claim, that's even better.

They help with the body roll and they do make the rear end a little stiffer. The nice thing (if you can call it that) is that mine came with a bolt/rivet looking thing that allowed you to adjust the amount of "help" (stiffness) that they add. I didn't put it in, so they're at the softest setting. I didn't want it riding like a brick. You have to put the bolt in before installing them or in other words, it's not adjustable once they're installed.

I made the bumper. Got a winch in there too but cable broke. Now wondering about rope or staying cable.

No rubbing on bumper just on small parts of the fender. My excuse to lift it higher.

I have seen only one 2nd gen 4banger with a 6" lift so far. There is pictures of it on the 6" lift and more picture thread. Not sure who's it is. I don't think it is a tacomaworld members.
