For long range, you can try Cheyenne Shooting complex down by Carson (https://carson.armymwr.com/programs/cheyenne-mountain-shooting-complex). Pistol & short range, there are a bunch of indoor ones around town. Magnum Shooting seems to be pretty popular and they always have deals for active duty/veterans. Whistling Pines is another one I've been to that accommodates small caliber and pistol stuff. Rampart Range Road north of Woodland Park is another option if you don't want to deal with ranges - it's just a little over a 30-40 minute drive to get out there from town. Most ranges in town you'll have to pay - I just head up to the mountains (Rampart) to save a few bucks and avoid the hassle.

In college we used to go up Rampart Range Road by woodland park. There are a ton of places up there that people shoot. They might have closed it because people trashed it by leaving things like TV's all shot up

Look up Isaac Walton. They are east of Colorado Springs. They used to be really nice, but I haven't been there in a decade, but I know they are still open.

If you follow 67 North out of Woodland Park, about 5 or 6 miles out of town, there's a public area in National Forest Land that is open.

EDIT: Found it on maps: https://goo.gl/maps/P4QyC4ahu4M2

Looks like it's also the beginning of a 4x4 track, Turkey Track Road.

I don't believe shooting is allowed off of Rampart Range any longer, but I'm not 100% on that

If you just want to punch paper, go to Magnum Shooting Center on Northgate Blvd. If you want to shoot action matches, sign up for the SoCo 3Gun matches or USPSA stuff at Pikes Peak Gun Club off of 24. It's down the road from RAM Offroad Park.

Mt Herman is closed to shooting, but you can still split off of FR 300 (Rampart Road) on various spurs and shoot in there.

We usually shoot up on old stage now. Eagle Rock is a fun trail also.

Wasn't that just the official range up there? Isn't it still open to shooting as long as you follow the standard forest service rules?

Most shooting has been closed up the road. Signs posted to not shoot for most of it. They even close it during winter now. Must come from woodland park side to access it.

Lots of people have been shooting off Old Stage/Gold Camp. It is becoming trashed just like Rampart was. The range at Carson is $10 all day. Well managed. 20 min on, 10 min off.
Rumor has it of opening another one like the old one on Rampart in the area.
    I use Cheyenne at Carson.
