if i cant find the black stock bumper by then, i'll go buy some sand paper, primer and rustoleum bed liner.. a few cans would be a good idea. BUT i wont have enough for 2, so id recommend getting all that for yourself too.

 

How many cans of each do you think i will need? 2 primer and 2 bed-liner? Could I get away with 1 each? And is there any kind of sand paper or a certain grit?

 

I'd buy at least two of each. I'm gonna get two cans of primer and 3 of bedliner. any extra will help you when you end up scratching it anyway. you're welcome to do one of each.. but you may leave with a half done bumper!

 

I see. Very good point. I'll get at least 2 of each. What about the sand paper?

 

From experience of Al, Ron and I this past weekend. The bumper does not come of and go on easy. We needed to grease of the suport to get it back on.

Its almost worth it to try to take the plastics off from under the bumper and prep/paint while its on the truck. Make a sudo paint booth taping and papering off for overspray.

 

that would be easy enough. i could pick up some paper and such and we could strip down the bumpers.

 

Hmmm... That does sound way easier but that doesn't help with my dent/bracket. I'm not gunna worry about it right now.


Could we paint the lower center section of my front bumper too?

 

That is easier said than done. Go out and take a look, I know the endcaps are impossible to get off with the bumper on, but the center section might be easier. You may have to tape it off as close as you can and maybe paint with a brush up under the plastic to hide the chrome.

 

You're probably right. Plastic pieces like that aren't made to go on and off. They usually break. I hate that I'm such a perfectionist. Taping around the plastic would bother me. I'd rather do it right and take the whole bumper off.

I want AP to take a look at my 1.5 leaf springs and see if there's anything they can do to get me a little more lift out of them.

Might be dropping in some SAW 2.0's in the rear as well.

 

So would it be easy to spray the center of my front bumper? Jefferson, you're bringing stuff to mask the truck off right?

 

well, i said earlier i'll bring what i can sooo dont count on me having everything - but i'm usually pretty prepared. Collect newspaper. We can make it happen

Do they have spring compressors in the shop we can use? I want to change out to 885 coils if anyone can help out with that
