A friend and his wife went to a Ryan's buffet.

His wife got the creamed corn.

After a few bites of it she gets something chewy.

It was a piece of bubble gum that someone had put in the creamed corn. :puke:

Another friend's wife found a band-aid in her taco salad at a Mexican restaurant :puke:x2

Rosa's Cafe & Tortilla Factory, went to this place when I was stationed there over 10yrs ago...sat and watched a lady making the sweet tea, she poured in the seeped tea, water and sugar. Then proceeded to stir the tea...with her hand and arm in the large pitcher you usually see iced tea in :puke:. I had been drinking a sweet tea at the time, and lost my appetite and never went back.

Inferno, that is one of the funniest posts I have read in a long time. Sorry for your horrible experience but thanks for the entertainment!

At least the sliver lining is that you will likely never choose to eat at a place like that again. Wise choice!

All it takes is one weirdly bad thing to happen. Good to know you stuck to staying away. That's where I'm at with buffet's for good.

Wow. I am not surprised to read this here, but wow. What a narrow view.

Every ethnic group of restaurateurs has its bad examples. At least be fair and include them all.

I enjoyed an office party bbq buffet an then puked for 24 hours, the first in the parking lot. Your story brings back that happy team building event,

Raw egg nachos is the worst I've ever heard. It's pretty amazing.

Last time I went was about 15 years ago, and I saw a kid dipping macaroni and cheese by the fistful onto his plate. Still see it in my head.

At least with "corporate" restaurants there are, or should be standards and standard operating procedures for food handling...not that they would be followed at all.

Take a look at health inspection reports and you see a pattern in my area...politics aside.

Ugh. Buffets. Might as well serve yourself food out of petri dishes from a bio-hazard lab. Even better, load up your plate then turn around and look at the cliental in the restaurant. And then picture them doing their business in the bathroom, coming out and grabbing that spoon you just used to shovel yesterday's glistening, warmed-over mystery meat onto your plate. Bon-F-ing-Appetit. It's probably healthier to go out in the parking lot and use your mouth to syphon a gallon of gas out of the Dodge Ram that's parked next to you.

You know that goes on, especially with all of the unattended kids running around while the parents sit on their butts.

I bet the chocolate fountains take a big hit as well. :puke:

If you observe closely what's going on in the buffet line, you wont eat at one again. Kids will do all kinds of shit, and a lot of adults aren't much better. They are germ factories. Not just the open food, but the serving utensils handled by tons of people. I've seen kids scoop shit back in and go for something else, and even lick a serving spoon off a dessert tray. Aghhh.

Chinese food buffets are (I mean were) a big weakness of mine. Even though there's probably no one in China eating Genital Zoe's chicken. Most of that stuff is an American invention.
