after taking my truck in for some much needed love that i didn't feel like doing, my horn stopped working and traction control light came on.

what could cause that? clock spring? i have an appointment tomorrow to see if they're going to warranty their work or not, and if it is something as simple as the clock spring, i'll fix it myself and save the precious $$$

If the truck is doing that only AFTER they did the work, they should fix it.

Did you show the service advisor before you drove off the lot?

never use the horn, so i didn't notice it didn't work until a few weeks after when the light came on. i had some repairs i couldn't figure out that were done by a less than reputable shop and 100k service.

So, the light didn’t turn on until a few weeks after the work was done?

A few weeks? Come on, really...

What were the "some repairs" you couldn't figure out.

we got ran off the highway and after the (insurance) replaced the shock that got blown out, there was a clunk in the steering that caused the steering wheel to lose center. the shop "couldn't replicate it" and it took about 35 minutes of attempts at the dealership to replicate it. turns out the steering system wasn't completely bolted in. i have limited space, tools, time, and knowledge to diagnose repairs like that. as far as the horn, there is no reason for it to stop working after being worked on, especially with me not dorking with it.

You should have just said all of that to begin with. Your OP was pretty vague.

Since their work was directly related to the steering, I’d call them and see what’s up. It’s worth a try, but being 3 weeks out, you may be SOL.

Was your truck part of the steering spiral cable recall?

That's what I'm thinking. Ive got a 2013 so no on the recall. Im just tired of having issues after getting repairs done by "professionals"

Yep, that’s a clock spring/spiral cable issue. They may have forgot to plug something back in when they were working on it or may have broke it while they were in there. I bought one from Amazon for less than 30 bucks and replaced myself with a small tool kit. Screwdrivers and socket set.
