Anyone interested in a Bedslide Classic 1000 for a Toyota Tacoma short bed (05-14)? I have had this installed for 3-4 months (paid $1,049 plus install, plus shipping) and am really wanting to do drawers. It has been killer and the accessibility to the front of the bed is quite helpful but have decided to get a Decked system and kill truck bed space for organization. PM me if interested.

I have a bedslide and thought about drawers and keeping the bedslide but putting it on top of the drawers...just a thought. I don't really have the room since I have a LEER Locker as well. Check out @DefconBrix as he did something similar. I would have done it in a minute - get the space of the drawers and keep the convenience of the bedslide which I love!! Just a thought.....

I had considered but the drawer system weighs 250lbs and the Bedslide something like 125lbs. I'd like to avoid more weight on the truck and the Bedslide would sit some 3-4 inches off the drawer and would eat even more bedspace. I'd rather just move it if at all possible. If I can't sell it then I'll just stick with it since I don't have the money for more bed stuff.

Anybody run Cottonwood Canyon Rd between Kanab and Kodachrome basin recently? Last BLM Update was 2 weeks ago and wanted to check conditions before I get stuck on 39 miles of clay and sand.

I would imagine not much has changed since that last report, hasn't rained/snowed in a minute down south so I imagine you might run into some more sand, nothing unnavigable though. Last time I ran that road it was super chill and that was mid-october. You going to be down there for a period of time or just a quick trip? Just south of Kanab is one of my favorite places in the world, it is called White Pocket and it is in the Vermillion Cliffs National Monument. [IMG]

Just a weekend trip, coming back Sunday. First week I ever lived in Utah, I snatched a permit for Buckskin Gulch. That whole area is amazing! Just don't backpack it in July cuz I'm an idiot. Pretty sure I was danger close to heat stroke when I hit the White House trailhead.

Greetings from Austin, TX. I'm in the SLC area for a couple weeks (military training) and was looking for recommended suspension install guys in the area. I could wait a few weeks and take care of this back in Austin, but I'm squattin' pretty good with my canopy, RTT and equipment load (~500lbs) and I'll likely stay-out West for another week, before I head back home. I'd likely get an ARB/OME kit from Low Range Offroad. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to town! Hope you’re enjoying it.
State Auto in Midvale knows Tacomas well, does great work, and is reasonably priced. Dustin and the other owners are Toyota nuts - they’ll take care if you.

This weekend was a good one. Had a belated friends-giving type event deep in the red rock on the UT-AZ border with @cwhet10 and a few others.

Yesterday before we headed home, a few of us made the trek to White Pocket. That sand is no joke, but well worth the trip.

As a not-yet-Utah resident, explain to me how residents feel about Bears Ears and Escalante. Please refrain from the politics of it. I want to know how locals feel, not how representatives feel...

Way too big. Politics aside, what ends up happening is the DNR ends up closing down all the off road trails for trucks/atv. Hiking/biking is now only allowed on organized mapped trail. You'll be ticked and fined for walking off the trail - just as if you drove your truck or atv down a closed road or off trail. Also closes down all dispersed camping. Only camping allowed in organized campgrounds which will always be full and no where near enough campgrounds to support the demand. You will have to book out your days a full calendar year in advance. Then it drives up the camping rates because it will be booked full. They portray it in a "We are saving the area from damage" but really it just cuts off all entire public access. Public Land now because Public Land the public has to stay off of. Simply put, the land turns into the Federal Govs private land. We've seen it time and time again out here. Any one who disagrees, prove me otherwise with other national Monuments where this has not been the case.

Bringing politics into it... any president who decided to do this would face the same battle that is going on now. The western states are fed up with the federal land grab and we've had enough.

I'm all for preserving the area when you visit and a huge supporter of "Tread Lightly" and 95% of the people out there who visit and spent time camping, hiking, biking, backpacking, offroading, or hunting are not the problem for destruction. It is the 5% of people who are assholes who trash the area when they come and leave ruin it for the rest of us.

    end rant.

Alright, I could be completely wrong, but I am honestly not too educated on the fact. I thought Obama made the land Federal Land, and Trump came down to give it back to the state. Am I completely wrong? I had someone explain it to me. He is not a Trump supporter or against him. Just in the middle

This land was already federal owned. This moved the land into a National Monument - which put it under new rules of control and regulation access - what can and cannot be done on the land. Gives BLM the right to cut off all access for any reason someone would want access it - camping/hiking/hunting/gathering/cattle grazing ect. This does not give the land back to the state - still federally owned.

Im in the middle too, just trying to sort out whats going on. I fully understand Home Rule and prefer locals not be trampled on with oversight and unfunded mandates. I am worried about the lands being used for private venture (oil, fracking, bought by private entities forever removing them from being publicly held...) I just want to know whats going on...

This is why I am more on the side of the current (until 2 hours ago) status. Not ideal as pointed out from a public lands perspective, but better than a bunch of oil derricks.

Right - however there is no oil or natural gas in the area so that will not happen. There could be coal mining out there but that still has to go through the normal channels to get approved by the state and feds and generally restricted to small certain areas. Any one who wants to buy land out there would be to turn into a Cattle ranch of some sorts which they would be purchasing large valleys and open areas. even then, they still have to allow right of way access through roads and trails. I own 500ish acres in north western Utah. The California trail runs right through the property and I have to allow access through my property on the trail. I do not allow any one to go hunting and hiking through there isn't too appreciated but then again, I'm not too worried about it. Just don't go hunt my property. lol

I know I see a lot of people saying Trump has now signed that in order to allow fracking, etc. But I believe those are just rumors as of now. I think in theory if they wanted to start facking, it would still need ti be approved. They did not sign anything that allowed that to happen.
i think the problem is there are so many people against Trump, they always assume he is doing things for the worst.
