    Once you know the routine it takes 45 minutes to take off at the most and maybe an hour to an hour and half to put back on when you know what your doing, first timers probably double that time at least

    Changed all coil packs and fuel filter.
    No change.
    Started up the truck this morning ran on 5 cylinders for 30 seconds or so then cleared up and ran on 6.
    My hesitation is still there around 3000 rpm.

    Going to look into some new injectors. Hopefully cheap

    Got a guy I might buy a first gen S.C. from. Says there’s only 80k miles on it. If I buy it and have to get a rebuild I’d still save money but if I buy it and have to get a rebuild and a nose cone I wouldn’t.

    Under what conditions would a nose come go out? Guy is running it on his 4Runner now and sent me a video of accelerating, no noise that I could tell.

    Only the bearings and seal go bad on the nose cone and will be part of the rebuild process. They are very simple to do if you have access to a press. Basic rebuilds (bearings and seals) usually cost about $800 so depending on what price he is asking it could be worth it.

    BTW....it’s a first gen TRD S/C.. which is why I’d be worried about the nose cone.

    EDIT: apparently they don’t make them anymore.

    I’ve just seen them listed for sale online for like $700.00.....which is why I ask why one would need to replace the whole nose cone on a first gen S/C

    Yeah 1st gen are harder to find unfortunately, but the cone housing and shaft should be fine. If the shaft is messed up at all then you run into some issues. Otherwise if those are all got to go, then it’s a simple bearing replacement. Not much to the nose cones.

    There is a on/off switch on it. I cant tell a difference when i switch it off .

    Just to clarify here, 1st gen and 2nd gen are the same M62 blower. the changed the manifold/case from a two piece to a one piece. Magnuson cast the bypass valve to be integral on the 2nd gen.

    True, but the nose cones are a different design and not compatible.

    It is not doing you any good. If you go back to stock you can eliminate any issues that it is causing.

    The 1st gen grey supercharger and the black supercharger for the 3.4 perform the same output performance.
    The 2nd gen black in one casting unit and the grey unit is two.
    All bearing for the 1st gen and 2nd gen are available.

    The nose bearing on both superchargers last around 100,000 to 150,000.
    The snout can be taken off either supercharger while on the engine if the snout bearings need to be replaced.
    Highspeedlab.com can rebuild the snout for you for around 250.00 I think for either supercharger.

    YOU DONT NEED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE NOSE CONE EVER!

    Typical it's a good idea to do a full rebuild every 150,000 miles.

    The only advantage of the black supercharger over the grey 1st is you don't have to take the supercharger off to replace or do an oil change.

    But you can have a butt screw tap on the top of the grey supercharger and now
    you can change the oil in 5 minutes while on the engine.

    Mine charger has 540,000 miles on it the 1st gen and has proven its self to me,
    I don't know any 2nd gen superchargers with close to my miles on my 1st gen supercharger.
