I have be getting a lot of requests to make a build thread so here we are. I have a IG @Daddyrunner05 and @CaliDesertRunners Truck page feel free to check out. (Personal IG is sometimes deactivated due to backgrounds with jobs) Also I rebuild shocks pretty cheap in bakersfeild/Tehachapi area only a simple fresh fluid and seals so hmu if you need them done!

    2001 3.4L Auto
To start off up front I have 2.5 Swayaway coilovers (190 PSI of nitrogen), Camburg UCA with Uniballs, and Total Chaos weld spindle gussets

With a tube bumper that my buddy and I built in a garage.
Paired with general grabbers AT2 265/70/17 and Addicts XD Series 17x9 -12mm offset wheels.
    A2AB872E-A39B-4078-9860-B24246401CD2.jpg

Now let’s move onward to the rear end. I have J59 deaver springs, with a shock relocation kit (shock towers) made by Croth he’s on TW here somewhere, to the outside frame in the wheel well, where I fit 14” stroke 2.0 fox shocks with reservoirs with a flutter stack in its valving to help with hitting smaller bumps so it doesn’t stack (keep at 150 PSI), 2.5 2” stroke bumpstops by swayaway(at stock pressure). With a strike pad held down by the leaf springs U bolts. Now since I had to move the shock tower outside, I had to add wheel spacers to the rear and front end(front end to match rear) I bought spidertrax 1.25” to give me that extra room needed. Since I personally am not a fan of wheel spacers I chose spidertrax since they are hubcebtric and known as the best wheel spacers.

So I mounted the bottom eyelet of the rear shocks to the bottom of my U bolt after welding a 1/2” x 3” bolt to back of it like so:
    3E18FAC6-DEF3-4AC5-9D92-781B95DC18F6.jpg
1/2” stainless steel spacers x8 both bolts and spacers were perchesed at ruffstuff.com and my buddy @Croth51 on TW can hook you up with the shock towers and do the install. His website is
    http://Crothmetalworks.com

I also have Super 10 Flowmaster muffler just to sound purrrdy
    36EF39FC-75A8-4BB5-8273-608620858235.jpg

She rides good but you can definitely tell my rear end rides way smoother then the front which is understandable. Just took her out to barstow this past weekend and got go pro videos of the rear suspension doing its thing looks good I will post the video soon for all of you to see. I need to make some adjustments still I do have to admit. Like as you see below I forgot to adjust my bumpstops to this set up in the video but this will help you get a visual on what to exspect on a trail with this set up.

Here are some things I noticed in the build that were not so cool...
    A5F42FDA-7DC6-4AAE-99AE-7FAF00A5A8C8.jpg
Holes from uniball (both sides as of this weekend(worth it)) but good up travel I must say lol also partly my fault for jumping her but she didn’t break so you have to take the good with the bad!

My optima yellow top was too small and ended up braking loose and denting the hell out of my hood which busted the paint job on top of the hood so make sure to cage that fucker good (my fault not really builds fault or maybe is the build idk) but here’s me fixing it with zip ties mid trail

    0DB0DEAC-66C0-458F-8949-0FF2A8095234.jpg
    54D9D1A8-4265-4830-8668-010AD4B5A326.jpg

I also rub like a mother****** if I don’t compressed or adjust the preload even worse when I got the spacers.(hopefully LT is coming soon)

I need flared fenders bad that is in the works as we speak. Most likley will solve the rubbing

Gas mileage sucks (it’s my daily) I’m getting like 12mpg Highway but I’m used to eating cup ol noodles so it’s fine actually quite like cup ol noodles so I got that going for me

You can’t use your spare tire carrier under the bed when you off road or it will ruin your articulation(deavers will hit it)

But I’ll tell you what hitting the whoops at 50mph... priceless (obviously depends on the whoops but she handles well) the best part even though I sometimes(most of the time) drive like she’s long travel she doesn’t break on me so I really do like my build and would def recommend the rear shock tower set up for any one a.) on a budget b.)wants to still have full use of their bed and c.) on a budget

So finally updating I bought solo motorsports LT kit with king 2.5s!!!
    623BE30A-AA88-404D-BDC9-2D63C5A735A6.jpg
Got advanced fiberglass 6” flared fenders with it as well and here’s a photo of it bolted on with the fenders
    5BB4D1DE-07F2-460C-BE34-0D3876201E3F.jpg
Although I got everything bolted on still need a lot of welding work done I got the limit straps on at this point but still need bumpstops/ressi tabs/UCA double sheers put in.

    (Still under construction)

    Hell yeah, awesome, thanks man!

I'm also trying to figure out my shock setup - any recommendation on a 14" stroke Fox shock without a res? Maybe even throw me a link as to where to get 'em? :bananadead:

Way to go with the industrial strength zip ties on the battery. My roommate uses those for his work so they're around the house - I've accumulated a little stash of them too.

Trail Gear sells a holder for that battery. I've got one.

Really and it fits in our first gen area? The only thing with me is I like being able to move the battery stuff out when I’m in the engine bay or taking off a UCA

I didn't install it so I can say for sure. The previous owner had two bolts going through to the fender well with some 1 1/2" washers I guess to distribute the force. As long as you're not hucking your truck it should be alright - adding an aluminum plate under the fender to make one big pressure disperser might be a good idea if you're running through whoops etc.
