    Hi TW,

I've had an itch to explore lately. Where are some places I can take the girlfriend for the day? I'm located in Orange County, CA willing to drive 150 mile range. I have a stock taco so nothing to extreme just a Saturday day trip or maybe spending a night.. Are there any recommended hot springs/camping spots/look out points/views/hiking trails? I know this is very vague and open ended but wanted to stir a conversation. Also, I know there are TONS of places in southern California for a weekend warrior but wanted to hear where you all go for to get some fresh air.

    Thanks in advance!

Some nice easy fireroads that lead to some amazing views. Idyllwild is up the mountain from Hemet/Palm Springs, might even get snow up there this time of year. Look up Thomas mountain, & black mountain. There are yellow post camping sites there also. The town of Idyllwild is cool too. Some good restaurants and shopping as well

Not sure if Pismo Beach is within your 150 miles limit. But it is a nice place to drive around and relax close to the water. But 101 might be close due to Ventura Fire.
Joshua Tree NP has a lot of very easy trails. Anza Borrego is a nice desert oasis as well.
If you want a little elevation, Big Bear offers very nice scenery.
