Does it still have the textured rubber on the doors and dashboard or do the new leather seats replace those areas with leather (or smooth vinyl)?
    I hate that textured rubber.

So strange that Toyota didn't add that for the manual. Ive driven manuals with push button start.

The reason it has a key is for proper use of the Clutch Cancel Switch.

I bet they figured if you want a manual transmission you want a manual ignition. Maybe you need to be happy they didn’t give you a crank?
I like my push button start and power windows and locks and navigation and everything, but I do sometimes miss the days of simple vehicles with roll up windows and everything.

TRD Exhaust, Mobtown bolt on sliders and aluminum tailgate reinforcement, Reverse lights changed to yellow turn signals, LED pods added for reverse, ADD W1 oil catch can, Total Chaos bed reinforcement, rear diff breather to taillight mod, 12" combo led bars behind lower grill wired to high beams, Toyota led bed light kit, 400 watt anytime mod, SSO slimeline front bumper.
The clutch cancel switch could still work with a push button start. Toyota is just strange with how they offer packages. Glad at least the still offer three pedals.

I guess they could probably mess around with programming of the button for it to work similar to a key for clutch cancel use, but its probably less expensive for them to just stick with the key.

I'm glad I didn't get stuck with a push button ignition on my manual. I already gave up manual hubs and a transfer case stick, all for what?

I feel like too many people want their trucks to emulate the sports cars and luxury cars available and manufacturers cater to them.

Gone are the days of 4x4 truck specific interiors and robust manly man features.

I got my manual transmission, and a real key ignition with my 17 DCSB OR and I will cherish what I was giveth.

That's already being discussed. Toyota is trying to cover their ass legally. We get it, but most of us will still lift our trucks. I know I will! I guarantee we will eventually find ways to tweak or recalibrate the sensors if needed. I'm not worried about it, personally.

I doubt a 2"-3" lift (90% of us) will make any difference at all. These systems are designed to work on a field of view and distance radar. Raising your view 2-3 inches is the same as the incline\decline of the road changing 2-3 inches on the same plane. So unless these were designed to only work in a perfectly flat environment with zero tolerance (which I highly doubt), the vast majority are going to work just fine. This is just CYA on Toyota part.

    She's home...

Huge THANK YOU to Dan Clark @ Fletcher Toyota in Joplin MO! This was the best sales experience I have ever had. I called about a dozen lots in a 150 mile radius, and Dan quoted me invoice on the first call and had the truck built and ordered the next day. I even offered local dealers the opportunity to compete and they never even came close. Not only did Dan quote me a great price w/o haggling, he personally drove the truck to me (120 miles) and we did the paperwork at my kitchen table. Glad to see there are still people like this!
