bad gas

Hey guys this is where I post about my 2001 toyota. Going to vent a little. We have a 2008 Honda Accord that has 6,000 miles on it. Wife filled up and got about 2 miles down road and car quit. Had it towed to dealership and they found water in the gas. Called service station and they said they just found out and would take care of it. Just got the car back and its still sputtering. They took the tank off and drove it 90 miles and its still sputtering. Man I hope this don't haunt us down the road. Rick

 

if i were you. i'd remove the fuel pump and clean it, reinstall it, and then use an addative in the gas tank, some thing that will dry up any water in the gas....you may need to use a couple of bottles of it. also, for the time being, i'd probably run a tank of premium(thats just me though), and a bottle of fuel system cleaner in the next tank. hopefully, it'll work and the injectors wont be messed up. the water drier should take care of it though. good luck!

 

^^ agree with above run a few cans of seafoam or the green alcohol in your next few tanks. Good luck.

 

I had the same issue except the truck never made it off the pump and the station towed my truck drained and refilled plus gave me my $60 and I demanded a filter change at 65k I was going to change soon but for free I took advantage!
Change the filter! It will hold the water! Should solve the whole issue!
