    Better clearance for sure, although I'm not really sure if that's much of a benefit. Thinking about my accident, I think the shitty plastic bumper actually prevented damage to my wheel assembly. I hit the deer pretty much right in front of the passenger wheel. Had the wheel been exposed, it would have been the wheel that would have taken the brunt of the impact -- and then driven over.

    Not going back to stock but it's an interesting artifact of these bumpers. You add hoops for front end protection then leave the lower portion complete exposed.

    Well, They're designed to give clearance and offer some additional protection not so much for culling deer herds. I've seen people hit deer with aftermarket bumpers and take out their entire suspension on one side but really you've got to think about how often you're plowing over deer vs how often it will benefit you on a trail.
