Thought I'd give the other Canadians a heads-up:

My 2016 @ 35,000km has come down with the leaking timing cover issue discussed in a couple other threads. I noticed oil accumulating on the bottom of my power steering pump while I was underneath doing an oil change a couple weeks ago. Took it into Stampede Toyota in Calgary and they said it was leaking down from the timing cover. 4ish weeks to order parts from Japan, and then 1-3 days to install, all under warranty of course. Said it's the first one they've seen with this.

Keep an eye out for something like this next time you're underneath. Power steering pump is your leftmost pulley when looking into the engine bay from the grill. This is looking up from underneath.

I'd be interested to know what accessories people have, that seem to stand up to Canadian road conditions. I have corresponded with some high end lighting manufacturers, and asked them if they do salt spray testing or similar, and they all say no. This is not surprising because they are based in California.

I have seen a lot of rusted Rough Country light bars, KC lights, and Warn winches, for example.

Just wondered what "works" up here. I don't want to buy $3000 worth of accessories that are going to look rusty in three years.

I bought Toyota Predator steps because they are black painted aluminum. I have seen lots of steps/sliders/nerf bars made from painted steel that are full of rust holes. I ended up buying them used off a seller in NY state, because Toyota Canada does not sell them. I told the owner of the dealership I bought my truck at, that Toyota Canada should be selling these steps, given our winters and salt etc.

I don’t get you. You have two rear view cameras showing the same thing?
A rear dash cam shows a totally different angle and range of image.

I understand, right now it's two backup cams, but it doesn't have it be. The large display offers greater proximity, the mirror is for focused for very close views. It's certainly not a camera like a GoPro & like.

    My thoughts exactly.

He has two close viewing cameras. Nothing like a dash cam.

I think it just might be 2nd Gen's feeling inferior and want the camera in the dash. 2014's have it in the dash, should have waited a year!

Hmmm, didn't think Pioneer made this unit in 2014. What do I know but to feel "inferior". Ha!

Strong grades of steel are rarely stainless steel. Most nerf bars and sliders will require regular painting if you do not want them to rust. Many come from the factory unpainted, so you see a lot of rusted ones because they were with painted poorly by the owner, or never repainted after they get scratched up. If you do NOT plan to use them in “real world” off-road conditions, where they will be sliding across rocks etc as intended, buy a raw set and have them powder coated by a good shop and they will last.

Myself, I bought the OEM trapazoid plastic ones, so rust isn’t an issue.
