Do you have a front spacer/rear block lift?

Just traded in my 04 double cab for a 2017 Trd Offroad. Wasn't planning on lifting, but you know how it goes, the little voice keeps calling and damn these 3rd gen trucks look good lifted.

Anyway, I had my old truck lifted with coilovers and leaf pack in the rear. Offroaded a good amount years ago, but pretty much not at all anymore and 99% of my driving is in the city. No plans to do more than the occasional run out to the desert and a fireroad or two when camping with the new truck. A mall crawl setup is just fine for my wants.

I'm looking into a typical 3/1 spacer lift as offered by the dealer. Seems dealers typically use revtek with the puck in the front and block in the rear. Completely warrantied of course.

My question is to those that have a 3/1 spacer and block setup, how is the ride? Any weird issues? vibrations? etc? Are you happy with it?

For your needs, a spacer lift will be fine, although not recommended. I would highly recommend not going through the dealer though, as you'll get ripped a new asshole by their prices.

If you want a "proper" lift without totally breaking the bank, go with Bilstein 5100s, OME coils 887 and an add a leaf in the rear. That'll run around $700 from various vendors on here and lift you 2". I prefer @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc

thanks for the replies. The question still stands, if anyone has a puck lift with block in the rear, please let me know how it is working for you?

If your ashamed of admitting you are using a spacer lift then please feel free to PM me.

Good info, I need to look into the 'needle bearing bushing'. Apparently this is an issue? Any links to why this is an issue?

ETA: just looked it up, sounds like the bushing prevents any possible vibrations.

I've been considering a 1/4" top plate spacer up front, and a 1/2" shim in rear... Combined with the TRD Pro suspension, I think this will be enough for me.
OP -- I realize this is much less than what you're looking to do, but for some reason I'm still on the fence about it.

Actually, my responsible 'inner voice' is saying don't lift it at all and just leave it alone. However, that wouldn't be any fun. I may just stick with simply bringing only the front up with a smaller front spacer. This way I can keep angles down, no nasty block in the rear. Still a puck in the front, but a 1" puck makes me feel a lot better than a 2" puck.

I had a spacer lift for 3 days. Well worth the money to pay to have it taken off. Feel went from a nice ride to a 70's truck with 150k miles on it.

Yeah, 5 years ago I would have been all about doing this myself. Can't tell you how much time I spent working on my old truck. Went through many iterations of lifts/setups. However, just dont have the time to wrench on a truck anymore. Flip side is of course that it is hard spending money on stuff that is so easy to do.

    5100 front on 3rd notch
    5100 rear w/ toytec 1.5” rear block

Reliable, nice ride (a hair stiffer than stock), looks good, won’t break the bank.

I’ve had this on my 2nd gen and current 3rd gen. I do a lot of camping, towing boats, trails, Fs roads, commuting.. I love it as a budget setup.

Did you have an in coil puck lift? An in coil lift would definitely kill the ride, but I can't imagine an above coil puck would change the ride that much. What kind of lift was it? thanks

I have a 2" spacer up front and 1.5" blocks in back. Overall very happy with the setup. Ride height is good, able to put 265/75/16 KO2's with zero rubbing issues on. Ride is a bit stiffer than stock. If I was going to do it again I think I would put 5100's up front for lift and stick with blocks in the back.

I honestly dont remember. It was quite a while ago. I've also felt the exact same ride in other spacer lifted trucks.

If you're going to lift your truck just for looks, nothing looks better than remote reservoirs....just sayin :D
