Turbo BS Thread

Would there be a big difference between a 27"X5.5"X2.5" and a 27"X7.5"X2.5" as far as heat soak or any other factor that might be involved with intercoolers ?

 

That thing is pretty sic! That 4" inlet is badass. Is that a .63 ar turbine?

That’s a nice turbo!! I’m not familiar with a mod that makes the turbo spool louder. What is that exactly?

 

It's not bad, just not to the stardard that I want to be yet.

 

Ya it's a t3 .63ar turbine. Should be a really good all around turbo for me. Got work to do now to clean up my engine bay.

 

The 7.5 is approx 35% larger, which would theoretically mean 35% more charge cooling capacity and proportionally less heat soak. If it fits, I'd use it.

It's called the T51R Sound Mod started by OCDWorks to mimic the spool sound of the HKS T51R turbo. They just machine the compressor inlet larger and in a specific pattern. No power gains, just pure sex sounds.

 

Just like he said. Makes your turbo sound like a jet engine based on the geometry of your inlet. Needs to be an anti surge cover to make it work.
