Chase, did you get your parts from Toyota World as well? I ordered mine from there, and got a call telling me that this part is back ordered. The guy at Toyota World tells me every distribution center in the freakin country is out of this part, and he needs to order it from Japan which could take several weeks.

I may try a local dealer and see if they have any on the shelves, but can't imagine they have these parts lying around.

Kind of funny you asked this. They called me and told me the same thing (keep in mind I had ordered this part before I even had my truck).

He was basically encouraging me to cancel the order, but I told him "nah, I'm patient" and they shipped it to me 2 days later. I am assuming that either they really don't know what they are getting and when they are going to get it, or they aren't making much overhead on selling the bluetooth pieces and would rather not deal with ordering them etc.

BTW: It wasn't hard at all to install, but I also wish the colors of the orange illumination of the buttons matched a little better, but its still neat having the BT controls!

Thanks Chase. I got the feeling too that he wanted me to cancel the order, but told him, I can wait. I looked at a dealer close by, and no parts on the shelf. I can wait.

It's good to hear how easy it was to hook up the controls. I'm hoping I don't have to wait weeks, and it will be just a couple of days.

How good is the GPS in this unit? Also, can you connect an overhead DVD monitor that plays independantly? Figured that would save me some money if I don't have to buy a stand alone unit.
    Thanks

    Looks great Blake!

Tom: It does have video outputs for rear monitor(s) so that shouldn't be an issue. The GPS has been great for me thus far but I've only used it a few times, no complaints yet though. It's not quite as responsive as the OEM one in my wifes 2010 Camry, but it is more user friendly so I think its a wash - then again mine may be more responsive if I had installed the GPS antennae where it could see out of the vehicle? Mine is installed on the top rear of the unit itself.

Thanks. Do you have the rear camera and did you hook it up? If you did, can you view the camera at the Pioneer and the rear view mirror?

This is so tempting. I really want to upgrade the HU, but I had some other things I wanted to buy first. This may be too good to pass up though.

Thats a great point wolfe. Anyone waiting for their tax return to get this might want to jump in before the 30th. I would suggest getting the Unit only and then add the other accessories later.

I do have the rear camera and I used the method described here:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/audio-video/30889-oem-camera-connection-below-dash.html

This got the rear camera to display through the Pioneer HU as well as the rear view mirror! No complaints thus far and this was a pretty easy hook up.

**To clarify on their instructions once you strip the video cable solder one D-Sub to the exposed wires and then there will be a little yellow shielding around a few wires, I stripped the yellow and then soldered a D-Sub to those wires and that was my two connectors. Not sure if it matters but that worked for me and worked on the first try so I didn't fool with it any more than that.

    Hi,
I am about to purchase a Tacoma and would like to order the pad and harness you are discussing. Would you mind sharing the part numbers and how you specify the color of the pad you need? thanks, tim

Sorry, I am a little lost on the question. What are you referring to as the pad and harness?

If I referred to something by those names I must have overlooked it (or maybe someone else did and I didn't see it). Thanks and sorry for having to ask for clarification.

Chase, I think he is referring to the bluetooth side buttons (pad) and the harness (ribbon) to add the bluetooth controls.

Funny, I just responded to the exact same question in the audio/video forum. Take a look at that discussion. They show successfully how to add the bluetooth buttons. The thread with the instructions, and the part numbers is here...

Gotcha. sorry I was a little lost on that one.

Have you gotten your parts in yet? Curious as to whether the orange lights in the BT control pad are dim compared to the audio control pad (I know mine are significantly different - but it doesn't bother me much and is only noticable at night).

No parts yet. The guys at Toyota World tell me still it could be a couple of weeks to get them from Japan. I still haven't installed anything yet, so I got some time.

Yes you are correct those were the parts I was looking for. Sorry to waste the bandwidth on a question already answered. Purchased my Tacoma yesterday, 2009 TRD when I tried to order the parts last night the toyota world site stopped responding.. I really appreciate all I have learned thus far and hope to make a positive contribution in the future.

Good luck with the parts search Tim. Maybe our parts will be on the same slow boat from Japan.

    Kinda upset with my Avicz110bt!!!!

    Here are my complaints

    1) I set up my sound settings for the stereo but the high pass filter doesnt like to stay set so it keeps switching off and I keep having to set it back. I set my low pass sub filter to 80hz so every freq under 80 goes to the subs. High pass set at 80 so everything above 80 goes to speakers making them sound clearer without the bass stress.

    2) plugged in an address and it took me a longer route than it should have.

    3) When listening to music, a call comes in through bluetooth, you answer it have a convo, hang up, and the music never paused so you may be on a completely different song or in a random spot of the song you were listening too.

    4) My mic does not want to call my mother though voice haha!

    5) I can pick up my phone and dial the contact quicker than the voice rec does.

    6) Cannot figure out AVIC Feeds with the iphone

    7) Voice Rec library for ipod takes too long when booting up unit.

    8) Was using bluetooth audio to listen to pandora which works great, however a call came in and I had a convo, hung up then all the sudden my ipod was blasting through the speakers! volume difference from the BTaudio. Scared the shit outta me

    9) Put some .avi files on a SDcard for the slot and it only played 2 out of 8. Why?

Thats all I got for now I am sure I will find more. Good thing I have not sold my old HU yet cause I may pop it back in. Avicz110bt I am not happy with you.

    1. Dont turn on the sound stage. If you do, it turns off the HPF.

    2. Check your route conditions/avoidances.

    3. It would be nice but thats the way it works.

    7. Voice tagging of songs takes a little bit of time, especially when there is lots of songs on the IPOD.

    8. Doesn't happen to me.

    9. SD/USB media support is limited so probably a compatibility issue. There are many different forms of .avi and ways to encode them.
