It's not all that difficult to rig up a water cooled torch with an aquarium pump. The expensive part is buying the torch itself. If I ever get a dedicate shop space building up something for my machine (I have a Lincoln Squarewave TIG 200) is high on the to-do list.

Those low end !!!! Multi purpose machines are all a compromise .

Most welders who have been around find them very frustrating at least among the people I talk to.

They were introduced to compete with the Multi purpose China built units .

Wouldn't any CC/CV machine technically be a multi-process? Those have been around awhile, like the Miller XMT or Dimension and Lincoln Flextec power supplies could be just about anything you want depending on what you add-on.

These little home multiprocess are the Tacoma of welders, not as good as a 4Runner at hauling people, not as good as a F350 at being a pickup. A compromise that works most of the time.

Don't use an aquarium pump (centrifugal pump) you will definitely burn it up. Find a procon rotary vane pump (soda machines have them) they are capable of pumping through the Long tiny lines of a torch. An ultra cheap solution is to make adapter to hook up to a water hose.

I wear these pretty much exclusively. I hate wearing leathers and these are cooler, lighter and cheaper.

Same, fire resistant jacket. I do have a leather apron I'll use and a set of leather sleeves (I like ones with a collar I can close) I'll throw on for overhead or stick/dual shield.

And if you ever decide on a $$$ hood, look up jackson Halo x Truesight II. I used the expensive Lincoln hood, the expensive miller hood (digital elite) and found the halo x to be the best all around. if you settle for any ADF make sure you don't go below 11 on the shade.

The reason I got a jacket is mostly to reduce the amount of dust I track into the truck and back home. I was using Goodwill flannel but I've ended up wearing that daily and didn't want to keep ruining them.

Every ones eyes are different !

If i set my Hood on 11 I would not be able to see!

Years ago in a Air Arc course a shield 12 lens was mandated .

With the welder putting out about 450 amps all I saw looked like a candle flame across the room
