That's probably what I would do as well. That said, I love my tacoma the way it stands. It got me through 4 days of Rampage and South UT riding just fine!

I'd love to pimp it out with drawers, a fridge slide and north shore rack ( aka FULL biker overland-tard :D) but losing all the bedspace would basically turn it into a 4 runner, and I chose a tacoma over a t4r for the bed space...

Haha, nice! I apologize now, I may have just cost you a couple grand when you go look at bikes. They're totally worth it though.

Dude those Push shocks are the shit. Super pricey but worth it, (so I've heard) I have a Rocky Mountain and the shock wont fit.
If you have the extra scratch I'd just go to a Fox 34 or 36 Push'd. Super Cush and responsive. Damn I LOVE bike things! Nice lookin rig!

One more week until Rays bike park, had to go for a check ride around the house. Even though I have a bmx, I am totally not used to standing with the seat low.

Went for a ride on the Arizona trail this weekend. For an XC trail, it was amazing. Techy slick rock section on the entry, loose climbs, desert pine forest, a few small river washes, and that was just the first 5 miles. Would highly recommend it.

How far away are you from Draper? I was just checking out a video by BKXC and he was riding there. Anyways back to the point, the trails looked fucking awesome!!! It had technical but flowing parts just looked epic! Anyways thought I should share..

This is gonna be a long one...

30 minutes-ish to the trailhead...then you have to look for parking. See #2 in link below. It is one of the few areas that are reasonable after work rides for the entire SLC area and also home base for several high school bike teams. It is flooded with people every weekend / after work hours. To add to that, one of my favorite trailheads there is super small, and the local neighborhood residents voted to BAN all street parking for bikers. I get they don't wanna have to deal with bikers in front of their houses all the time(ritzy area), but they were SUPER hostile about it.

For those that live in the Sugarhouse area of SLC (trendy neighborhood for us 20-30 somethings) Park City is actually 5 minutes CLOSER and WAY less crowded. Plus there are many Apres locales...including 2 breweries and a distillery!

    https://www.pinkbike.com/news/top-10-ridden-us-biking-destinations-in-july.html

Fun Fact: the OG version of trailforks that Pinkbike bought was based here in UT, near Draper...

Draper trails are in an area known as Corner Canyon nicknamed "Carpet Canyon" because the technical nature of the trails has been severely neutered the past few years, but there are some great/good ones tucked in there (Jacob's Ladder and Rush).

What I DO want to give Draper a lot of credit for is that entire trail network is well maintained by the city. In addition to what you probably saw, they also have a couple of flow trails with big tabletops, etc (Vertigo and Levitate) and a bikepark with DJ lines. They really support the MTB scene there. Alpine and a few other places also have city maintained trails, but are doing their best to make them go away due to housing development, etc. It's a shame.

I currently live south of there, so if you ever come down, I can show you the "for real goods" , and maybe we could sneak out to Corner Canyon on a Sunday AM when it is quiet in super-church crowd Draper.

Edit: SLC just released a plan to develop a whole new trail network so maybe the pressure can be relieved on Corner Canyon a bit after that happens.

Thanks for the info, thats what shocked me was how maintained everything was. They also featured the bike park in the video I couldn't believe it. But everything you said about parking and traffic makes sense. Also thanks for the link I was not expecting Phoenix to be on that list... I need year round riding!!

Recently PCS'd to San Antonio, TX. I'm looking for recommendations for a good couple days worth of riding within a 10hr drive. Planning on trying to ride and camp for a few days during Christmas leave.

My budget set up for a cargo rack we already had. Gear ties around tires/tire rack and 2 ratchet straps around bikes.

Hey all, I live in Colorado but am looking to escape the lack of snow here (aka no decent skiing) and do some biking in Sedona in the next week or two. Will be looking to do some dispersed camping and ride some singletrack.

Any recommendations on a good home base to camp for a few days (off roading to get there is fine, or preferred) with good trail access nearby? If you had time for 2-3 big loops or rides, what would be a "can't miss"? On a Nomad 3 so the rowdier the better.

Jackal worked flawlessly all day. Rays Cleveland is a blast and totally different than Milwaukee was. Today also confirms that my skills are weak as I stayed off the expert jump line and foam pit etc. all day. Worked the pump track hard, some flow trail, and some technical sections with ease. Bike got some good miles between me and everyone else in my party as it was miles better than the rentals.
And zero crashes, so it was a good day!

I've seriously been debating building up a jackal. I've been looking for something that I can do a mix of casual riding around town with my kid, as well as the local pump track and work on skills.

Any idea how much you have into the full build?
