For at least me and my wife.

Right now, I just have a huge family tent that's a pain in the yang to setup, does not stand up to any wind or real rain (it was a cheap tent to begin with), and it's heavy as heck. I'm actually thinking about getting 2 tents, one for me and the wife, and one for the kids now that they are a bit older (since I bought the big tent). This way, we get some privacy and the kids can take on more responsibility by setting up their own tent while I set up ours (which equals less work for me). :D

Eddie Bauer MicroTherm Down Jackets are on a pretty good sale right now. They aren't Ghost Whisperer light, but in the 10-11 oz range or so.

I do not personally own one, but they are 800fp treated down.

They are discounted already, but if you use the coupon code WONDER it will get the hooded jacket down to $91.60, the regular jacket to $79.60, and the vest to $51.60. Very good price for what you are getting.

Welp, I actually decided to get a TarpTent Notch. I will either return or sell the SMD Lunar Solo. If anyone here is interested I will have a brand new one (as soon as USPS decides they want to actually try and get it to me) available.

Just a bunch of old crap
I really like that model, especially because of the ventilation on the ends and the 4-stake setup and ability to just use the top tarp as a stand-alone shelter. It was a coin toss between the Notch and Zpacks Solpex, and I spent months trying to decide. Did you go with the full screen inner, or the partial solid?

For now I just went with just the full mesh inner. If there was a choice of getting only the partial solid instead of both or mesh only I might have done that instead, and added a zpacks bathtub floor later or something. I do like that I can at least buy it later if I want to.

Also, I ordered at like 1AM last night and got a UPS shipping notification at like 10AM California time this morning. Pretty impressive from Henry and his crew.

Also, my buddy just got a Moment DW delivered yesterday and we will be taking both to Big Bend in a two weeks!

Nice. They probably created the shipping label and will have it out by EOD today and en route tomorrow. Isn't it nice ordering a lighter tent in the off season so it's in stock and ships right away? :D

You could have selected the partial solid interior at time of order, if you bought it direct through their site. But like you said, you can always get it later. I think you chose the better option anyways, since the full screen body will give you better ventilation.

LOL I must have missed it. Looking back now, yep, it's a $20 addition for partial solid only. But yeah I think the mesh on its own will be fine for most of my endeavors.

Just got these new babies from Massdrop yesterday for $79. Komperdell C3 Carbon Powerlock 2 Compact trekking poles. I'm really happy with the new Powerlock design which is supposed to be 90% stronger holding power than the Powerlock 1 design. I fully extended them and laid my weight on them and they're just as strong as my bulletproof Mountainsmith poles that I have trusted for the past 2 years. These compacts pack down to 22" (4" shorter than my other poles, and 2oz lighter per pole) but they're still tall enough to use with my Zpacks tents for support and also to still work with my height even on downhills. Usually I like the fake cork handles, but I couldn't pass up this price.

For the pair? I'm considering for a lightweight, compact wading staff for fly-fishing.
