My supports only fit 2nd gens as there are some minor differences in the upper portion.

 

How long till it goes back to Scott?

 

Mine is an entry level hardtail Diamondback. I’d stay away from the box store bikes for sure. With your height and long legs, maybe you should get fitted for a bike? I bet @Irongrave could chime in here.

I bought a GIANT in Hawaii. Shipped it back with me to CA

 

You're tall so definitely a 29"+ bike, mines a Columbia full suspension I got off Craigslist. plenty decent ones can be found for under $200. I wouldn't spend more until you reaaaallly ride.

 

I've ridden my Jamis a handful of times in the years since I hurt my hip, but before that very much enjoyed riding.

 

@scottalot there are a lot of good brands with a few fit differences between the brands. I check out afford a bike in Charleston they have a good mix of brands prices and often have used bikes in stock too. There are some good trails down there check out Low Country Fat Tire Freeks on facebook. I'm 6'4" and ride a large/21 inch frame full suspension 29 inch wheel Trek. I would look into a 29er or 27.5 wheeled hardtail bike as a first bike. Warning bikes are as expensive as trucks.
