Andy , watching the news and they're showing that most of these fires are spotting up to a 1/2 mile away

Chris is your Daughter still in the Lancaster ,Palmdale area ?? . if so she's safe from these fires as that area just like where I'm at the winds are very calm

The winds are at their strongest along the south facing ridges of the San Gabriel mtns or San Bernardino mtns . Where your Daughter lives she's on the North side of these mtn ranges such as myself

Santa Ana winds generally blow from the North to NNE and are at their weakest along the North sides of these mtn ranges . I'm currently only seeing 9-12mph from the NNE and I believe the Lancaster /Palmdale area seeing the same wind speed

 

My wife was able to contact a lady out there and she said Hillary is a good distance away from it all right now it just scares the crap out of me

 

Just to show you how dry the Humidity is currently in Socal I'm just under 4k ft elev in the Hi Desert and seeing Humidity as low as 10% and current temp is 43° with very light winds from the NNE

 

She is not in danger, Chris.

We are down to 7% humidity winds are going to blow through Friday. Temps are down below 60°

Thanks Andy I hope you can stay safe Ive already seen too many pictures on the news of all the poor folks loosing their houses. I believe I'd still pack as much stuff as I could in my vehicles just in case

 

That's horrible. Hope they get it contained soon. News this AM said they were just trying to protect property and not worried about containing it at that time.

Right when he's going to Hawaii

Prayers for everyone that is in the path.

Last night was my first night back at work. 9.5 hrs First hour spent on the phone with IS to reset ALL of my passwords. Then had a brownout around 2:00am, all running for a couple hours after that. But not a bad night.

 

I drive my truck daily !!!

I head to Hawaii on Saturday on Hawaiin Air and land in Honalulu at 2045hrs local time

 

Winds are supposed to get stronger thru the week and by Friday the winds will calm

 

I love playing in the dirt!!! That would dig up my tree stumps a lot quicker than me digging / burning them Fire finally went out tonight been smoldering since sunday afternoon

 

Last I checked, the wind here is only getting up to about 20 mph and dies off Thursday night. But it's not constant. It's been dropping down to about 5 mph, climbing during the day and falling back in the afternoons.

 

I like that Christie isn't a prissy britches either and likes to get out and dig in the dirt so do the girls

 

I'd venture to say we'd have those stumps out between the morning coffee break and the noon whistle...
