Interesting. Guess that means my dad shelled out for one of the authentic ones lol

Got a Wild jersey for my birthday just a few days ago.

Haha. Awesome. Ya I looked at the new Adizero authentic, while Chrsitmas shopping. They had the home/away Pens in a few players and also the home/away Knights Fleury. I almost bought the MAF one for myself but $225 was hard to justify. And I didn't think my gf needed an authentic. So I chatted with the store worker and he gave me the breakdown. So I decided to get my gf the Fanatics replica, like I said. It finally came in yesterday and I checked it out. Like I said, it's decent but for a jersey fan it might not be as cool as the Reebok replicas (which were fairly decent). I can post pics if anyone wants to see before purchasing. It's the home Crosby in Adult Small.

So you like your Adidas one then? I thought the authentics look great in person. But $225 is steep. If I got one, it would probably just be Crosby, since I know he isn't going anywhere lol.

Definitely. I love it. I'm glad I didn't have to be the one to pay for it, and it's something I probably wouldn't have bought myself otherwise. Maybe more likely as of late since I finally decided to quit just being a hockey fan and actually learn to skate and play the game lol so now that I'm getting more into it it's one of those things that I would've considered buying more seriously.

Absolutely. Joe is the man, for sure. I wasn't a huge fan of the hit, so I can see Caps being pissed. The fight is whatever. I can see both sides. Coach D was pretty jacked. Not sure if he really has that much of a reason to be pissed about it, but whatever. But Joe owned up to it and that guy will always have my respect regardless.

Awesome. That is certainly a cool gift. And great that you are starting to play. It is always good to learn the game, by playing. Might sound stupid but it will make your experience as a fan even better. You can relate to the game and see things develop as you watch etc. Just a different perspective, I suppose. Have fun out there.

No I totally see what you're saying. Everything looks so easy when you watch it, but as I've been finding out, it's really not haha But yeah it's been great to take an actual introductory hockey class where it's also about learning the game and not simply learning to skate. With the ice time as cheap as it is, I see myself continuing on with it for a while for sure.

For sure. And yes, when you see guys do some of these plays and then think how hard that actually is. It certainly gives you another level of appreciation lol.

I was going to say, once you feel comfortable with your skating, I would totally recommend a powerskating clinic or an adult drills and skills. I have been playing on and off since I was a small kid and I still try to take clinics once or twice a year, minimum. It's good practice, good to work on things and it is fun. You will see big gains in your game. Ours are like 8-10 week classes for like $100ish. So it's not much more than a stick-time per session. Most of those things are very beginner-friendly. Look into it.

Have you considered putting on the stripes? I do it for minor hockey and it's a great way to contribute to the game as well as learn the rules.

Yeah the class is through the local University and we do about 50/50 split between skills/drills and scrimmaging. Since it's through the school it's just a normal like 1 credit class so I think I paid less than $300 and it's a 15 week class that's an hour and a half twice a week. Seemed like a pretty good value and there's only ~15 people in the class so it isn't crazy crowded either.

I hadn't actually. Once I can skate at a higher level it not out of the question though. I've been skating as much as I can so I've seen a pretty big ability jump already, but I still have a long ways to go.

Just make sure you can turn and skate backward without a stick. You'd be amazed how many hockey players can't do that lol.

Link? Is that total price with numbers and name on it? It would be around 500 (prob more) for Kopitar's thru the Staples LA King/Laker outlet.

If you go through the NHL website it looks like it's $299 for the authentic jerseys with any player.

Wow, they buttfuck their fans. In Calgary the game day price of jerseys is the same as it is online and on the NHL Canada Shop website.
