I raised one that was tossed from a nest as a baby. He was later returned to the wild. Cute pet, but I wouldn't keep one around.

    More deep thoughts...

Food. Specifically vegetable and fruits. How did those come about? Who was walking through the woods, saw a green fern like clump, pulled it up and saw a giant orange stick and said ‘hey, that looks tasty!’ Or potatoes even. Who pulled a big brown turd out of the ground and tasted it? Then cooked it and mashed it up and called it food?
    Peanuts?

Who saw a tall stalk of giant leaves with football sized tumors sticking out, plucked one, peeled the leaves back and stuck the little yellow nuggets in their mouth?

Brussels sprouts. Again with the small stalk tumors.
    Ginger. Another root.

Crazy folk lived in Neanderthal times for sure!

    Too few to list.
Hunger made people experiment with what's good and what's not to eat. I'm sure there were deaths along the way from the poisonous berries and such.

We have a local butcher shop here in town with a BIG "Free Range Beef" sign in the front window of his shop. Me and my Neighbor both have caught him in "Sams" buying Beef for his shop. WTF!

If you just call it food and not an animal, most of the issues go away....:p
I mean just because you stop eating it doesnt mean the problem stops. Someone is going to eat it.
Hmmm would people prefer petri dish meat?

Your logic is flawed here. It’s simple supply and demand. If I don’t eat animal products the demand goes down ever so slightly. The more people who do that the more the demand goes down. The less demand the less animals bread and killed. We kill 17 BILLION land animals a year just to eat them. That’s rediculous.
