Scangauge or ultraguage which is best? Can you just order one or does it need to be vehicle specific

Does either the scan gauge or ultra gauge give you anything the tourqe app with obd2 Bluetooth doesn't?

Getting ready for a cross country trip with a 5k# trailer so I knocked out a few things today along with the DS U-Joints I replaced on Sun.

Replaced the top two idler pulleys and tensioner pully. The engine hasn’t idled this quiet since 2009. The top two pullys were pretty much shot, the tensioner pully didn’t seem bad but it screamed something fierce.

Old VS new. Only difference on the surface with the duralast VS OEM is the inner race to make the bolt hole the correct size. Let’s hope they hold up.
    F6B81972-B7C1-4DD9-B0AE-799F796B2DFB.jpg

All done. The bottom pully was fine, I have a new one on hand should it go in the future.
    170439D9-746E-4940-A240-2C3B27794972.jpg

Also put in new brake pads. The OEM pads after 12 years and 82k miles had quite a bit of life left but they needed to go.

    6A438BC7-27EE-4A52-A2A3-4F5B1EBA09F1.jpg

    *Changed the spark plugs
    * Threw in a new air filter
    *Rotated the tires
    * Ran temporary wiring to the bed to run my ARB cooler for road soadas on the trip.

Got the house lit up, and couldn't let the season pass without the Tacoma getting lit up too. Did the complete opposite with my windows. 5% over my rear glass and side doors. Looks kick ass. A lot different with seeing at night. I'll take it tho

You should replace that bottom pulley as well for piece of mind. Cross country trip I'd worry about that one since the others are worn. They all see the same mileage.

I bought the Ultragauge and have been happy with it so far, wasn't vehicle specific since it runs from the OBDII port. From the research I did between the two earlier this year I went UG because I liked the design and layout options for where I wanted to mount it. I think the mounting ultimately drove my decision but I'm happy with it.

Edit: picture to show location. Ran the wire up the pillar and mounted far enough back to use the visor fully in either direction. I've tilted the bracket I made back some since this picture to follow the lines of the corner better.

One step closer to finishing (starting) this project! I think I jumped the gun on ordering my cables though, these things are too long and short in all the wrong places. What sizes did y'all run for each?

Not hard at all. The only complex parts were making the mounts/brackets for the tweeters and crossovers. Crutchfield included adapters for the 6x9s, but not the tweeters. A lot of people will cut the stock tweeter bracket and use hot glue, but I did my own thing; same with the crossover brackets.

if I'm not mistaken I believe I saw the brackets on crutchfield awhile back when I was looking around, and since I already have the brackets for the aftermarket doors and etc it should be pretty much plug and play other than the tweets.

If you're using crossovers (which is highly recommended), you'll have to swap the wiring all around too.
