This past May I bought a 2015 Tacoma. I finally used the 4wheel drive. When I flipped the switch all wheels where engaged. When I flipped the 4 wheel drive off, while vehicle was stopped, I heard a 'clunk' coming from what seems to be the transfer case.

    Is this normal???

    Thanks in advance

Mat is the worst time to by a tacoma.
The transfer case can make a clunk when it disengages. If that's what you heard, it's normal.

i read somewhere on this site about putting the transmission in neutral before shifting to 4wd. It actually works well to rid the clunk
