Oh, and I also have a pair of Deaver U402 leaf spring packs that are waiting for the Archive Garage Hammer Hangers to replace my AllPro Standard leaf spring packs and the AG Shackle Flip Kit.

And I recently did a small group buy for the Spartan Rope Bundle (rope, soft shackle, and bag) with a few others from Oahu. Fast shipping and the deal was too good to pass on. A Pacific Northwest based company, so I had to support!

So, I got a quote for 285's for the Toyo RT's and NRG. Both about $300 per tire. ATZ P3's can be purchased as low as $200 per tire. I'm leaning towards ATZ P3's. I haven't had any issues with them so far, but the RT's and the NRG's are still contenders. We'll see if the new year brings down the prices.

Thanks again for the photos and the response, Chad!

@seoulja99 have you considered going with a 255 over the 285??
I drive in soft sand often and have been very pleased with my 255 aired down more so than my previous 285s aired down
I have also found the truck rides smoother rolling down the highway with the 255s than previously with the 285s

Any reason why you replacing the allpro standard leafs an AG shackle flip kit? Popping noises? Flat leafs?

255's are definitely more practical, but I prefer the wider 285's. In fact, I want to go 315's (35"), but as mentioned previously...a lot more work and money. And I still need to re-gear and add a front locker. LOL.

I guess if I went 255's I'd go with a mud terrain tire to keep the aggressive look that I want to maintain. It's a balancing act of off-road capabilities, on-road performance, and overall aesthetics and costs.

I'm okay with low gas mileage since I only drive long distances on weekends or chasing down truck parts around the island. LOL.

This is also my DD, so I don't want to hum on the highways or even local streets like some of the boggers you hear before you see on the roads. Hence why I'm going for a hybrid like the RT, NRG, and ATZ P3's -- they have the aggressive look and decent capabilities of a mud terrain, with better on-road manners.

    Appreciate the input, uurx!

My build took a turn. I've added a lot more weight to the rear than I originally planned. A camper, standard rear bumper with swing-out gate and full size spare, plus the weight of camping gear...the AllPro Standards aren't meant for that kind of weight.

If I didn't have the full size spare and camper, I probably would be fine. In fact, before the rear bumper and camper shell, I loved the way it rode. So much droop and road comfortably.

Another tire I'd consider is the Falken Wildpeaks AT's. Anyone have any thoughts on them?

Just go with a 285/75/17 (34") there's a few options including toyo, fallen and nitto

Heck, search on Amazon and pick whichever is best priced (and will ship with prime)

You’re one of my idols, Rick! Haha! My concern with 35s is going Offroad. I have a feeling the rubbing will be ridiculous at Kaena Point or Peacock flats trails. Have you gone, yet with 35s?

    That might be an option.

And you meant Falken Wildpeaks? AT or MT?
