If the passenger side has retention clips, that means WeatherTech/Husky etc. aftermarket will have to re-do their fit since their current 3rd gen mat won’t fit. I’m going to pick up an ‘18 this week and was hoping to not get the Toyota all-weather mats, but I may have to as a stop gap until the new Weathertech’s come out.

I think I dislike this grille more than the one that’ll be on my TRD sport

Care to share who the dealer was? I'm having trouble finding a dealer who will do that in the Northwest.

So I plan on ordering my truck this week, I've always been great on negotiating prices but man I can't get dealers to get down to invoice for a new 18' TRD OR 6MT. Everyone is firm on about 1k above invoice :/ This is Southern CA and people pay stupid prices. Anyone have any luck with 18's at other dealers in socal?

Best I could find in San Diego County area was $300 over invoice. If you are willing to search further away you can grab significantly better deals if you include places like Northern CA and AZ. Personally, I am willing to take a road trip or short flight to save a pile of cash.

Done that before and had a dealer try to pull a fast one on me knowing I drove all the way to AZ to get a truck and did not want to go home empty handed. This was after working out all the numbers and making the deal before I ever left my home with the manager. I stood my ground and told them I wasn't paying those surprise "dealer fees" and walked away. It was an expensive vehicle so I would of been saving a decent amount but didn't want to be a victim to the dealers tricks. I told them to honor their word and the deal we both agreed upon or I'll walk. I picked up my jacket and walked out the door, then the salesman yelled, grabbed the chair I was seated in and threw it against a wall as I walked out. Most unprofessional tantrum I have ever seen lol Staying fairly local is worth the few hundred bucks in savings to me. Now if I can save thousands out of state on this new vehicle then okay, but Toyota isn't a brand that has a hard time selling so I'm not expecting to find a magical dealer thats thousands below invoice either. Just would love to pay close to invoice if possible.

Picking my 18 TRD Sport today from Orange. Good luck with those negotiations. You need them more than they need you. With these trucks they can pretty much just tell the consumer to Get Fkd and they’ll move the same truck within another day or so. At least here in lower central and southern coastal CA.

So true!, specially when they know a certain car/truck is hard to come by. Interestingly enough, Toyota of Orange only wanted to take off $300 off MSRP (MSRP: $40,805) for the only 2018 Cement colored OR they had. Told them Oxnard Toyota was offering me one for $3623 off MSRP. Orange said there was no way and that Oxnard was stupid if they sold it for that and good luck. Drove in pre-Thanksgiving traffic from Anaheim to Oxnard and almost 3hrs later, I arrived, wrote them a check for the price they quoted me on (+tax/license) and came home with the exact truck I was looking for.

Ha classic I’m doing the opposite drive today. (Live in Oxnard)
I priced out all my dealers out here but I have a connect at Orange.( a buddies childhood friend pulls some weight over there)
They knocked some off the MSRP( which is much lower than the number you posted, although I’m getting a 4X2 Cement TRD Sport Doublecab, guessing yours is 4X4) but they’re giving me significantly more than Carmax on my trade. Oxnard Toyota offered me like a thousand less.

Yeah, I got the 4x4 plus got the tech and premium package (leather, moonroof and the safety shit). As a matter of fact, I was just about to pull the trigger at Toyota of Orange for a 2017 quicksand OR 4x4 (without the new safety add-ons and no leather) untill I read on this wonderful TacomaWorld forum that Toyota was now offering the Cement color for 2018. So for $300 extra I got myself a 2018 that had more than what I was looking originally for what Toyota of Orange wanted for a 2017 model. I'm so fucking glad I waited.

Nice let’s see a pic. Feel like there’s gonna be a ton of cement Tacoma’s out on the roads soon. Much to the dismay of the ‘17 TRD Bros. Maybe I’ll start throwing out those gay motorcycle brotherhood two finger salutes when I see a fellow cement owner.. Or maybe Not!

Sorry to hear about the bad experiences getting a decent local deal on the truck, guys. Buying a Tacoma in SoCal is the toughest region, based on what I have read and experienced. But I fully refuse to accept the common dealer ploy of telling me that they can't lower the price because "these trucks sell themselves" or some other BS. They may be higher demand in some areas like here but there are ALWAYS other people hungry and willing to sell you your specific vehicle for a low price you want. The trick is just to be patient and determined in the hunt to find them. I will either find that salesperson/dealer or I wont buy the damn truck. F 'em.

They need us MORE than we need them. I have the wallet. They are competing for my money. :muscleflexing:

Figured I’d take a pic of it out doing exactly what I bought it for. :infantry:

I have a VIN, but no delivery date.. None of these dealers know what is going on.

I am getting the OR premium package (OF). When I look up the VIN it lists 'Interior' as 'Black Pkg/gun Metal' but also lists the OF package info.
    • OF TRD PREMIUM OFF ROAD PACKAGE (Double Cab Only) Dual Zone Automatic Climate Control, Leather Trimmed Heated Front Seats, Auto Headlights and Moonroof
Also, on the specs I was given from the dealer it listed JBL, but I am getting a manual so I know that is not true.

:amen: Stick to your guns brother. See your out looking for the same truck I got. Great minds think alike .

I'm sure you already know this, but emailing a ton of dealers really helps narrowing down the ONE. I'm not a big advocate of dealerships, but I was really surprised on the price quote I got from Oxnard on the first shot.

I don't think it's just Tacomas. It will be interesting to see sales numbers, but people around here seem to be in a buying frenzy. I've been shopping different vehicles with different dealers and all seem like they are moving trucks fast right now.

The final price for all of those add-ons should be cut by at least 30%, if not 40-50%. Other than the tonneau, they're all incredibly easy to buy and install yourself.

I shopped around and saved a bunch on my 2017.
