had a similar recall done on my previous taco ('05) back in 2008....... I also want to say they also changed out the rear motor mount to alter the angle in an attempt to get rid of vibration....

*Edit* so after reading the posts following my comment, my memories of the driveshaft replacement have become clearer. Sorry to mislead, but the driveshaft replacement on my '05 was a service bulletin, not a recall. I guess service bulletins are only honored if you mention the issue to the service tech... Toyota isnot obligated to inform you of service bulletins....

I have a 2007 Tacoma TRD sport. I just received the letter and it is a warranty enhancement program. It covers 2005-2011models .it states primary coverage good until nov 26 2018 with no year or mileage limitation. After primary coverage ends the secondary coverage is applicable for 12 years from the date of first use regardless of mileage. The specific condition is for drivetrain noise or and vibration. This warranty covers ujoint replacement and in limited cases replacement of the prop shaft I if damadged due to the u joint condition described above.

Warranty enhancement. It's not a recall.

I'm thinking this is pretty significant information considering how many fixes, work-arounds, and replacements of drive shafts, u joints and carrier bearings posted on TW to date. I have a 2011, getting this done now would be one of the best reasons to keep this taco on the road vs. getting a new one.

Anyone have details, like the warranty enhancement program number or details that ID this program from all other Toyota programs?
    Thanks
    Bob

Damn! I just rebuilt the drive shaft on my ‘09 to the $400. Cured the vibes though.

Many owners will go in hoping for a free new driveshaft. Most will leave with a bill for diagnostics not covered if the driveshaft is fine. Toyota will make millions on this.
