LOL why didn't anyone contact corporate before blowing up this thread. I called corporate and they said " We don't recommend lifting 2018's, but you are able to do so. We recommend you going to a Toyota authorized dealer to ensure they use Toyota parts and that the lift is done properly and safely." I asked, am I able to do it on my own as well, they said "yes but it would risk voiding the warranty if you don't do it right."I called my dealer as well and they were happy to lift my 2018 Tacoma TRD OR. Relax ppl, buy whatever year you want.

Toyota gave themselves an out with the do it on your own. By putting the if it ain't done right, could void your warranty language in there, they covered their ass.

If you lift it high enough you won’t need TSS.

If I remember correctly, when GMC came out with the Magnetic Ride System on the Sierra several years ago; there was the same issue about lifting those vehicles as well. The dealers all said no, can't be done, etc., but now I see them lifted. It may take some time for the lift companies/manufacturers to figure it out, but they will. There is a big market for lifts/levels kits/mods in general not to come up with some work around that will not have an adverse reaction to the vehicles safety system. Patience may be the key to future mods on the 2018's and beyond, but IMO, eventually all or most mods will be able to accomplished for any buyer.

Sounds like in the coming years sensor re-calibration for lifts will be a big business.

Most people don't lift their trucks more than 3 in, there's no way the systems would get out of whack with 3 in. They are not that precise, radar has a pretty wide spectrum

If the 3.5 engine didn't kill the Tacoma, this certainly won't....

D6143903-4833-40A0-AA2E-53DF7EB553DD.jpg i have 2018 cement off road... and have remounted the tss on my trd pro grille. which mounts lower than the stock cheese grater grill it comes with... i did no recalibration and sensor works flawlessly.. its still told me to brake when i was tailgating... dealers will always tell you not modify ur vehicle. but thas my 2 cents
