So I just purchased 3 LTC on Coinbase (instant transfer after my bank account asked me to verify). Now that I have them on Coinbase, I should swap them somewhere else? Or leave them as be? Trying to figure out which way is best.

 

Depends on what you want to do with them. If you just want to hold them and watch them grow, leave them there, because coinbase has a pretty high transfer fee (~2.75 on 100)

If you want to exchange them for something other than bitcoin or eth, you'll have to transfer to an exchange. Once you've traded them for another currency, you can either pull that currency down to an appropriate wallet, or you can leave it on the exchange (which is risky because exchanges can and have been hacked).
When you get to a point where you want to convert back to USD and withdrawl, you can exchange what you have for btc, eth, or ltc and send it back to coinbase, then pull it out to a linked bank account.

 

Where did you get into IOTA? I'm in at $0.86 and real tempted to sell and wait for another "dip" to buy back in.

Not who you're asking but I'm into IOTA as well. I had been following it and was in the process of trying to get verified on coinbase so I could go invest when it was at $1, but that stupid verification took so damn long that it was up to 4 before I could get money into it. Literally so salty about that

The exchange that is tied with Coinbase. Was thinking of transferring some BTC to GDAX and putting a buy for LTC with it...

Ouch. Luckily I was already set up on Coinbase when I read a random post on reddit and decided to hop in on a whim. It's a fun one to play with and watch... The lower numbers seem to move more

Thanks i wish I could understand what i was actually doing in a way. The majority of the coins i have Bought have been on recommendations of others. Last year i had The opportunity to buy LTC @$24 per coin and BTC @ $800. I wish I would Have gotten in then

 

Yeah I'm leaving the majority of my investments in btc and just watching them grow, but I figured throwing a hundo at iota would be worth it at least until we see how their marketplace demo goes. It's got some real boom or bust potential

So if I want to jump into and join the IOTA thing, I have to transfer my LTC to another exchange, change it for IOTA, and then put back into a wallet?

 

On binance you have to buy IOTA in BTC

So LTC->BTC->IOTA

 

Yeah, as the above poster mentioned, you'll need to change your LTC for Bitcoin, then transfer that to an exchange that supports IOTA (I use Binance, you can allegedly use Bitinex if you want to do a bunch of VPN nonsense then pretend you dont live in the US, but that's not worth it), and trade the BTC for IOTA. Bear in mind that it takes a couple hours to move money from Coinbase/whatever to Binance because the transfers have multipoint verification. Might be better now than last night thought, I was trying to transfer in the middle of a big buying rush for IOTA

 

why not just go BTC to IOTA on binance?
