If you can find mini bottles, you may want to try those first. I have an almost full bottle of Highland Park 12 I think I'm going to have to find a home for (too "iodine-y" for me).

Makes sense for those that have tasted them, but my whisky opinion would probably be the wrong one as it's really not my thing. Paint thinner would probably be my first choice. :D

Not a bad answer, actually making a lot of sense. Liquor store sells these.

the recipes for each are not changing, but they are japanese owned... as a MM Ambassador (before the ownership change) I loathe this. I still this bourbon and whisky is an wholly american thing and foreign ownership is... well.... foreign...

Here in my local area, there was a very limited choice of mini bottles. I found The Glenlivet, Macallan 12 in the small airplane sized. The Chivas came in a smallish 200/350ml (don't remember) bottle. Unless you want full immersion in peat, as Cuffs said, steer clear of the Islay's.

The way of the world I guess.

Look at all the craft breweries being bought up by InBev, MillerCoors, Constellation etc.

Interesting times we live in. The world has never been smaller...

Isn't whiskey American? I know the best beer is still Canadian, as well as the best vodka! :anonymous:

Whisky (without the "e") is a whisky from Scotland (ie, Scotch). Whiskey is pretty much any other country and includes bourbon - which has regulations of it's own as to what can/cannot be called a "bourbon".

Haa-haa..just messing with you @Cuffs. We all have our favorites. Some of our local distilleries have some awesome beers! My son works at one locally here. I'm sure there are some local beer distilleries that have some awesome beer locally to you too! And given an option, I'm there to try them all in your area. Grey Goose is one white vodka that is one of the best though. Hard to beat on a global scale!

Glenlivet 12 (and older) is a very good blended Scotch. Almost no peaty taste. I give it an 8/10
Grants blue label is a very affordable blend and drinks very smooth with a splash of water. 8/10
Monkey Shoulder is an incredibly good blend by Grant's of Glenfiddich and other single malts. 9.5/10
Laphroig is dirt flavored alcohol and tastes like ass. 1/10
