What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

This is the same boat my husband’s in. Had a laminectomy for L3-L5 back in May for Cauda Equina syndrome, and he’s making slow but steady progress. It is a long recovery though, and not one I wish on anyone.

 

OH also I got my new 17” wheels and tires installed today!

I have SG2 and have been extremely happy with it. I keep a paper and pen record of my combined MPG for every tank of fuel I put in the truck and I was averaging 16mpg before I got scan gauge and now I get 18-19mpg on average. I think it’s probably paid itself off by now. I need to re-do my calculations.

I’ve also programmed it to read my transmission temperature and all sorts of other stuff. Mine is mounted right above my mirror. I went with SG 2 because it’s smaller and more out of the way compared to UG.

SG2 you can also customize background color if you’re into that.

 

Nice install. I moved out of Texas two years ago today, and I still have my txtag up there.

Which wire did you tap for illumination?

 

Well there are 3 wires coming off each set of LED wire harnesses and its pretty much just matching the wires until I got power to the lights. 1 wire I didn't use on each of the push buttons, I believe this is the one for constant illumination.

I'm a big fan of mine. I track my coolant temp while off road, engine load to see if I need to downshift on the highway, battery voltage to see if it's healthy, and air temp intake for no good reason at all.

 

That's actually not a bad price for something that should have simply come with my Taco TRDOR. One of my biggest pet peeves is the stupid temperature on the head unit that comes from digital radio. It doesn't look like this fixes that though. Fuel economy would be nice instead of having to manually calculate it.

 

Replacing my pulleys this weekend. Got any advice for a newb?
